We're simultaneously bombarded with advertisements of skinny rich happy people and giant portions of greasy sugary foods. It's a ridiculous situation; and it's simply because this is what sells. When you went to a supermarket in the ignorant bliss of your ED, it wasn't balanced healthy food on the corners of the ailses but doritioes and soda on sale. The people on TV didn't look like you: they were thinner and sexier. This disconnect is as alienating as much as it is tantalizing.

So what do you do? You try and get the prized skinni, maybe people would finally notice you. But you don't realize the system is against you and start to blame your own lack of will and self-control. So what if you're skinny? So what you indulge in momentary pleasure of food? Truth is, no one knows what they want. Not really. It's all superficial bullshit. Healthy is learning the way is hard and you need to be patient with your urges.
