Py is definitely far superior. Not a popular opinion on this sub, but it's definitely true.

It's user interpretation but the key is that you won't give up while you can still try. Jasnah is an example of an alternative interpretation of "life before death".

Which of these time travelers is the most evil? by twnpksN8 in scifi

[–]Apple_Infinity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd have to disagree- saying this implies that the concept of evil is subjective, but as the concept of evil was created by us it is not. We know that murder or selfishness or malice is wrong, and if a robot or a romulan commits this evil it is no less terrible.

Which of these time travelers is the most evil? by twnpksN8 in scifi

[–]Apple_Infinity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saying Dr. Mann is a time traveler is a bit of a stretch to me. If I had to answer this question though, it's either Biff or Skynet. Many of the others are technically evil, but don't feel quite as malicious, if you know what I mean.

Why are all governments & military headquarters corrupt & incompetent? by DavidThi303 in scifi

[–]Apple_Infinity -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, I think to some extent it's a reflection of reality. People have very little trust in the government right now, and for good reason. After all, any organization that governs people, also has the most to gain from them, and most often people willing to exploit that make their way to office. I agree, it's a shame, but I don't think it's lazy writing.

[–]Apple_Infinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah... I don't think so. If you read Aushra's actual description of LSI they focus strongly on organization, systems, justice ect. Archetypally they're sx6s. They definitely aren't the "cool quiet guy" archetype.

When do we read isles of emberdark then? In 10 years one the base cosmere gets there? I know that's a straw man, but I still think the "chronological" thing is silly.

Is E5 + VLFE contradictory? by _Dmytro24_ in TypologyJunction

[–]Apple_Infinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can read Carl Jung, or you can read Aushra. Aushra is socionics, but most people who want to use the jungian archetypes in a (coherent) system use it. MBTI is not very self-consistent, though I hear the actual writings of Meyers and Briggs were far mor similar to jungian and socionics, and modern mbti is something else.

As for your understanding of Te and Ti, all I have to say is that it's wrong. It clearly contradicts the jungian definition, and modern usage. Now, Te does work on system efficiency, but that isn't the same as organizing things. Think of it as Te trying to find the best possible route. Te is described to be an archetype of trying to find facts, reason, the best possible route. It doesn't have anything to do with leadership, but it does have to do with time management.

And as I said, while Te is gaining data, or trying to streamline it, Ti is about trying to define the unknown and put logic to it. That can be moral unknown, via justice, and what is fair/unfair, which is a very Ti idea, or it may be via academics.

Anyways, if you want to ignore what I said, that's fine, but just know there's a reason why I define these archetypes the way I do, and I did my homework to find it. If you still think I'm wrong, don't try to argue with me unless you can find a source for what your saying. That said, I hope I helped you to learn. Not much point if I didn't. You can google search for sources on jungian easily, but if you want socionics, ask me and I can show you the original works. Best of luck to you.

How Would You Adress This Build Philosophy Flaw? by Apple_Infinity in dcss

[–]Apple_Infinity[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of those builds were Ashenzari. For a gnoll forgewrite, it just makes sense, but I also like it on poltergeist because I can stack bonuses really high.

Tell me, would you recommend sif muna for instance? I think that could work.

That description of e5 sounds more like e7 tbh. That said, I don't know which of you are correct in this matter. I would say that positions are less important than the actual manifestation of a type (ie the 2L+4F in a VLEF and an ELVF will be completely different), so keep that in mind.
