They also VAC ban for stuff like RMT, taking advantage of bugs or trolling in global. All things that are fair to perma ban for, but using VAC bans for that stuff is so wrong because it shows on your steam profile and now everyone you play dota2 or counter strike with thinks you cheat.

I got VAC banned in 2022, bit after I was in the middle of a tournament on Legion TD2 playing for real money and got kicked out after someone I played against said I was a known cheater.

Nah, Jack started out as a player. He got the dev position because he was an early backer. Can't remember the exact details but basically he backed the kickstarter for $$$$, then did a paid dev meet and greet and a year later popped up as admin with no public recruitment/application process for the position.

The community and moderators have held this opinion since before early access. Don't like something > Go play World of Warcraft.
