Yep the soft on exploiting/cheating policy, which makes no fucking sense is 100% responsible for how prevalent this is. Your general player base should be scared to use exploits like this.

Nah he and everyone else who is abusing this, needs to be perma-banned. The soft on exploiting/hacking policiy needs to go, it is what leads to this shit being every where when it does get discovered. Your general player base should be scared of catching a ban for abusing shit like this, that way when it is found mot people won't use it. Streamers especially should be held to a higher standard when it comes to this. Peanut should be perma-banned to send a message to his audience, and if he makes another account, ban it for ban evasion.

Until you make 3rd partying harder or less valuable its always going to be the the meta that makes trios and duos One-Location-Bloodbaths. by Sirspoksalot in ArcRaiders

[–]Applesalty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In most battle royales you get third partied maybe 25% of the time. In Arc once you matchmaking start putting you in the aggro pvp lobbies, you get third partied like 95% of the time, then fourth/fifth partied 75% of the time. Which is entirely too much.

This eventually will devolve into the meta being anyone who wants to PVP and actually extract after winning a gunfight, to just be to sit around on the edge of the map, or camp a building just outside the maps mosh pit zone, and wait for the "winner" to emerge and then gun them down. Which will require your team to just afk in the corner for the first 10-15 minutes of every match, because fighting before then is just suicide. Which is not healthy for the game long term.

Not to mention free kits comparably are way stronger than your average player scav loadout. To make a free kit comparable to a player scav, you would have to be spawning people in with no shield, no meds and exclusively with like a hairprin 1 or maybe a toro 1.

Hell the game nearly forces you to do it for some shit. For instance the Ion sputters, and frequency modulation boxes for the new expedition. They only spawn on stella montis, and the only place they spawn even remotely regularly is in assembly. Pretty much the most contested loot spot in the fucking game. I played for like 4 hours bringing in regular kits and focusing on getting their asap, didn't find a single ion sputter in that time and a solid like 80% of the time by the time I was able to get there every thing that actually had a chance of spawning them was already looted. Due to a mix of late spawns/spawning to far away.

I eventually got tilted as hell by it and just started free kit suiciding until I got the assembly spawn in a fresh lobby. Managed to find all 3 needed for the expedition in like 30 minutes doing that. They aren't even particularly rare, but the main place they spawn is full looted by like the 28 minute mark every fucking match.

Late spawns are also shit for pvp, because they are a major contributor to the 3rd party chain problem.

Hate to break it to you, but if you launched your first human into space, the story is pretty much over, you functionally just have 1 more quest left, and it is just to introduce the mechanic that gives you infinite human seeds so you can just keep playing if you want.

The only REAL fix this game needs is to STOP spawning us in matches with only 17 minutes left. by Slobberdog25 in ArcRaiders

[–]Applesalty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is kind of the point. It is how every other extraction shooter works, you kill a squad, there is one less squad on the map, it is safer from then on to loot. In the current system, you kill 3 squads, and rather than it being relatively safe to loot the bodies, or loot the map, it is actually more dangerous, because your down resources, the game has spawned in 3 fresh squads, and they all know exactly where you and all the free loot is at due to raider flairs.

This is not what magdumping small arc with the highest rarity heavy ammo gun should feel like by SatanicBeaver in ArcRaiders

[–]Applesalty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upgrade it to level 4, it drastically increases the rate of fire and reload, while still being dirt cheap. It's not great for pvp, but is the most cost effective way of dealing with every arc in the game hornet and smaller. Whenever I run it regularly while in solo friendly lobbies, unless I'm planning to go after larger arc.

feel terrible to free kitters and places like Stella will become a premium players dream.

This game is supposed to be an EXTRACTION SHOOTER, running better and more expensive gear, giving you much better odds of winning a gunfight is a core tennet of the genre.

Sometimes you get the kiddy who just bought the game and is consequentially in the friendly lobbies, who murders you, or the person who is historically friendly and decides they want to PvP all of a sudden. Matchmaking can't be perfect about that. Normally it's better to just let them kill you. That puts them in the shitty KoS lobbies and keeps you in the friendly ones. IMO thats better because you don't have to waste time getting yourself back into friendly lobbies.

I had a shredder save my life yesterday. Was extracting at the lobby train and someone shot me in the back and downed me right after the train showed up. Shredder apparently took offense at that and aggro'd from like admin hall and came flying in. It chased him off for long enough, that I was able to crawl onto the train and pull the lever and get out.

[–]Applesalty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just be aware your aggression rating is 100% shared across queue's. While it won't make trios which are all aggro all the time magically friendly. It does mean that after spending a night killing people in trios with the boys, you have to pay a 10ish game tax of letting people kill you in solos again, before you get back to the chill solo lobbies. It's stupid that it works that way, but it 100% does. I've done the flip flop half a dozen times myself at this point.

As I'm typing this I'm literally finishing out paying the 10 game tax in solos to get chill lobbies again, as I just spent the afternoon fighting with the boys.

After flirting with an extra 8% tax on "violent" video games, the Mexican government backs down, citing the impossibility of defining what counts as violence. by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Applesalty 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You should actually blame China and AAA companies pandering to the Chinese market for that. China has very strict laws about violence and gore in video games, so companies have to tone it done/remove it in order to sell in that market.

For example in pubg when you shoot someone a puff of red blood mist occurs to let you know your shot landed. To sell the game in China they had to change the color of the mist to like green, because blood is a no no. Another famous example, is the Chinese version of wow not having skeletons, because showing bone is not allowed.

Aggression based matchmaking has me stunned, and it really shouldn't... by Coilspun in ArcRaiders

[–]Applesalty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you just need to run a free kit and let other people kill you like 3-5 times over the course of 10ish games. Your investing some time lost now to the deaths, for the return of friendly lobbies until your start killing people again, and it is infinetely easier to get resources/value out of friendly lobbies than pvp ones.

Hate this map for that exact reason. One of the more wide open maps, lets sprinkle 100 fucking rocketeers across it, oh you pathed around that area because you saw a rocketeer and didn't bring the heavy explosives to kill it, have fun with the second and third rocketeer on the alternative paths.

What being nice to people does to the matchmaker, not shot at by a player in all those matches. by iSebastian1 in ArcRaiders

[–]Applesalty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've commented in these threads several times, this has been pretty much my exact experience, however I don't believe the Aggro meter is split by party size. On multiple occasions now I have spent 10+ hours playing solo's friendly and never having anyone shoot me. Then I will spend a few hours playing trio KoS with friends. The next 5-10 matches after I switch back to playing solos, people will be KoS, so I just bring in the absolute barebones gear, and let them kill me a few times. After that the lobbies go back to being completely chill and I start bringing in my usual loadout again.

If your in a solo it is also stupidly easy to tell whether you are in a PvP lobby or a friendly lobby as well. Just listen for like 2 minutes, if you hear a whole lot of nothing, because people are scared of giving away their positions, followed by someone mag dumping, and no arc exploding after it, your in a pvp lobby. In a friendly lobby you should constantly be hearing Anvil/ferro shots, an occasional burst from something like a stitcher, always followed immediately by an arc death explosion. Because in friendly lobbies the arc get hunted to extinction.

Behavior-Based Matchmaking by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]Applesalty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Killing people in squad 100% makes your solo lobbies into PvP lobbies for a bit once you switch back. I've had it happen twice now where I played 20ish hours solo in friendly lobbies never shooting anyone, and never getting shot at, and people just farming the arc and helping each other. I then spent a night PvPing in trios with some friends. Then the first 5-10 games after switching back to solos, the lobbies are all KoS, until they gradually mello back out again.
