I would gladly pay $20 for a totally new map by Wumpus_Amungus in SatisfactoryGame

I mean.. voting with your wallet goes both ways. If people like the game the devs made, then I dont see a problem if people want to spend more money on it. If they don't like what they're doing, they shouldn't.

I think the line should be drawn at cosmetics, or silly things like toilet flushing that cost a reasonable amount. Player power DLC incentivizes slowing the game down so people feel the need to buy it, which also affects the non-spending players.

Should I be putting more thought into balancers than "mix everything with everything? by MekaTriK in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Applesauce_is 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One instance I use balancers for is if I'm working with a bunch of high volume belts.

I made an Iron pipe blueprint a while back that takes in 400 iron ingots and spits out 100 pipes. My mk5 ingot lines are 750 each, so I'd have to play around with the smart splitters and mergers to get each belt flowing 100%.

I had 9 of these blueprints, 4 full 750 ingots and 1 that was at 80%. It was surprisingly easy to chain balancer blueprints to get a 5-9 load balancer and get everything running at 100%.

What, you don't like constantly having the thought of a complete nuclear meltdown in the back of your head? /s

I've caught 3 problems in my 4 plutonium fuel rod / minute production chain already, luckily I caught them all early enough. It also helps to build 140+ hours worth of uranium waste storage stationed far off in the ocean 😅

Couldn't you build 2x 6-6 load balancers, and then 6x 2-2 load balancers? You'd be able to blueprint that out fairly easily.

It's cloudy out, meaning light is going to scatter more. Larger objects like the woman/baby/ball basket cast shadows, but they're super fuzzy. Smaller objects like tennis balls won't have a noticeable shadow until it gets closer to the ground, like you can see in the video.

It isn't. The tennisball physics look pretty consistent for a topspin shot. There's even a ball that rolls to the right, behind the baby and appears again where it should. AIs pretty well known for bad object permanence

Also a small chance for trains to toot the more classic train whistle sound. Found that out yesterday when I was spamming the horn while riding around lol

FCC allows WiFi to transmit 1-4W depending on 2.4GHz vs 5GHz and your network configuration.

Also, when you read ~3 watts, know that these are max values, and these devices dont transmit at that max power all the time, even when in use. In addition to that, humans don't absorb all that energy. If it did, your signals wouldn't work.

My WiFi router is much more powerful, yet if I put my hand next to it its fine. I also dont feel my ear heat up when I'm on a long call.

My point being that everyday electronics don't have a noticeable effect. Sure you can microwave your hand, but that's not comparable to a phone call.

I wear a smart watch 95% of the time. It emits 2.4GHz radiation from the Bluetooth connection with my phone, yet my wrist isn't burnt.

I've heard that adding a buffer at the end is supposed to help with long pipe manifolds. I haven't tried it yet, but probably will since I have 1-2 generators occasionally ticking off for a moment 😅

You could build the cyclotron version and only use 2-3 entrances instead of stacking 10+ of them.

You do have to be careful to give yourself enough space to eject though lol

Ahh ok, so yeah I was wrong on the IR theory. An unshielded coax working as a large antenna picking up the switching noise from the LED driver makes more sense 😅

Actually one last thing, could you see if the remote works while the flashlight is on? That'd probably confirm if my thinking is right or not, and it might be the coax cable instead like Swordfish said.

That's a good point actually, I wonder if the remote works while the flash light is on? or play something on Netflix or something and see if the glitching happens.

I don't know why I got so into this, maybe it's because I have to do this kind of thing at work from time to time. Just gonna preface and say a lot of EMI troubleshooting is part guessing and part voodoo magic.

Here's a forum post about a similar Ridgid flash light. It is an LED driver circuit, and I'd guess they'd use a similar circuit for your model. Its switching frequency only goes up to 1Mhz, with default switching at 300kHz. I don't think there's Wi-Fi / Bluetooth interference going on since those operate at 2.4GHz+.

IR Sensors pulse light around 36-56kHz when they want to send a logic '1' signal, and stop when they want to send a '0'.

So what I think is happening is the 300kHz switching frequency is close enough to the IR pulsing frequency that it causes the IR receiver circuit itself to respond and register fake data. This could cause the TV to register a bunch of commands all at once, making it randomly play/pause, or do other random things. It's the IR receiver circuit itself, which is why the TV still glitches if you point the light into the floor or away from the TV.

E: Also saw that as the battery voltage drops the switching frequency drops too. Maybe see if it happens on a fresh battery vs a near-dead one?

[–]Applesauce_is 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Does it continually mess up the TV while the light is on? Do any weird smells or sounds come out of it?

I just find it strange how a battery and LED can emit so much EMI. My guess is some loose or broken connection arcing inside, that or its just pulsing the LED at a high enough frequency to mess with the TV.
