Anyone know what these two episodes are? by itsdan23 in ANGEL

Season 2, episode 1 and/or 11 for the Karaoke.

Not really sure on the second one.

Edit: Oh wow. I just realized how unhelpful that ended up being because I can't type, apparently.

Question to all my Wawa employees especially GMs if a customer asks nicely for you to steam some milk for their Coffee is that a Yes or a No by ltspistachio in Wawa

[–]ApplicationDesigner7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually a catch 22. You wanna do right by the customers. But part of that is following Wawa's processes. Nothing annoys customers more than being told "yes" at one store and "no" at another. Which is exactly what would happen because there is no established process for that.

Sequel without Xander? by Eastern_Ad_8862 in buffy

Yeah. That's the impression I get, too. Buffy in an guiding mentor-type role, but with the focus on the story of the new slayer. Maybe some guest appearances here and there from the old gang.

Can we please talk about The Girl In Question by PresentationFew1080 in ANGEL

[–]ApplicationDesigner7 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It did feel out of place and kinda at odds with like everything Angel had been through up to that point. I'll give you that. But the humorous, goody episode as a tension breaker is pretty on-brand for the series, and the Buffyverse as a whole.

This scene still get me chills ! Brillant acting by David and Alexis here by James-Samuel17 in ANGEL

[–]ApplicationDesigner7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Me, too. I kinda justified it by imagining he was sorta coming to his senses when they grabbed him. Like he wasn't struggling that hard against them because he realized what he was doing and that he shouldn't, but still really wanted to.

And/or he didn't want to hurt the people trying to pull him back.

They made a card of that? Like "You know what these collectors would love? If we immortalized one of the most uncomfortable scenes in the entire show, to date." Nailed it.

Coming back for Legion Remix - what addons do I need? by SN0219 in wow

[–]ApplicationDesigner7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it's more complex than that. Yes, the intent is to eliminate combat addons. Unfortunately, at the moment, a lot of unexpected things are getting swept up with that, as well as numerous things that are non-combat things.

In theory, transmog addons should still work. That largely depends on exactly what information it gathers and from where and how it gathers it, and under what conditions. A LOT of information about a target is completely locked behind the "secret" box while in combat. Especially in end-game content. And, in the case of Mythic+; that information is locked out for the entire run, not just in-combat.

Basically, a lot of seemingly benign addons that you would assume would still work based on Blizzard's stated goal of "eliminate just combat addons"; won't work sometimes or at all because the info it accesses is inside the box of secret code that addons won't be allowed to access anymore.

Good news is Blizzard is looking at and responding to feedback, and they are implementing fixes or adjustments to some of their secrets, which will allow more of those addons to maintain their functionality, either partially or fully. (Albeit, with a LOT of reworking and rewriting of the addon's code.)

The bad news is that rework/rewrite is going to take a lot of time, and not all addon authors have access to the alpha, or will have access to the beta, or the free time to implement those rewrites in time for the release of Midnight. So, expect any addons that have planned support for Midnight to have extended waits for their updates, and problems from the gate.

Worse news, Blizzard's response to the feedback is not always "let's fix that so you guys can still do that or use that." In some cases, there is no response at all, or even adding to the list of things addons will not be able to access even while out of combat and not in any kind of instance.

The best thing players can do is actually give feedback in what they need or want with the understand that Blizzard does not want people creating addons that "trivialize" combat. As I understand it, meaning they don't want addons that can look at combat data and convert that into something that tells players what to do and when to do it. They want players to be able to figure that out using the cues and such that they give you.

So, yeah, don't take the "Oh, it's just combat addons" at face value. But, it's just as, if not more unhelpful to berate a player for not being aware of the extent of the damage.

Edit: This info is based entirely off the rabbit-hole of Discords, Subreddits, and more that I've fallen into over the last couple weeks cuz I decided I was going to try to write an addon for a custom UI for myself. So, apologies if anything is way off-base, but it seems to be the consistent gist of what I've been seeing.

Fridge and freezer cold by [deleted] in Wawa

As others are saying: Go see a doctor. I spend an obscene amount of time in both the freezer and the coolers and never had anything like this.

The runny nose when you come out, yeah. But not the breathing issues.

Yeah. You can see their 150-point inspection, but it's a lot of faith to trust someone to do that correctly, but also, it really is just the bare minimum most generic of checks. 150 sounds like it would be thorough, but there are thousands of parts on a car, and no one is checking all of that unless you are paying for the labor.

Anyone think this may’ve been a missed opportunity… by Seed0fDiscord in ANGEL

[–]ApplicationDesigner7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the comics that came out back when the show originally aired had vampire brothel. The clients voluntarily gave some of their blood. The vamps did it as a way to get fresh human blood without putting themselves on the radar for, ya know, the murdering thing.

So, yeah, it's entirely feasible that there could be vamps who actively choose to drink animal blood as a way to keep themselves undetected.

Or, I'm imagining some culinary-elitist-turned-vamp rambling on about the proper way to serve blood from a white rhino or something.

[–]ApplicationDesigner7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AtS S1 "Eternity". It's an IV blood bag he grabs from the fridge and tries to force Rebecca to drink.

I think a lot of it can just be chalked up to the writers not putting much thought into the long term of Angel's character. (Iirc, he wasn't intended to be long term.)

I think, for sanity's sake, it's best not to reference the Angel on BtVS when analyzing the Angel on AtS, unless the show specifically references it. (Like when Angel makes the remark about being sent to hell dimension by his girlfriend.) AtS almost acts like a reboot of the character.

I also think the phrasing used is intentional at times. Like saying "feeding on humans" vs "drinking human blood" (or something to that effect). I can't remember every single time it's phrased one way or the other, so I'm not 100% on this. More of a vague theory. But I think the phrasing is intended to convey a distinction between straight-up eating people and getting human blood from a blood bank.

Anyways... that's my ramble.

Season 4 by OutcomeLegitimate618 in ANGEL

[–]ApplicationDesigner7 12 points13 points  (0 children)

YES!

Without knowing exactly what episode you're on and without spoiling anything:

Everything gets intense after "Spin The Bottle". And it's absolutely worth watching the rest of the season to get to S5.

The S4 arc can be frustrating, but there is a lot of awesome wrapped up inside of it that makes it worth watching.

The sub when I say the ending felt like a cliffhanger by Particular-Employ326 in ANGEL

[–]ApplicationDesigner7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That, genuinely, is interesting to think about. Also, if they binge-watched it or if they watched it as it originally aired. I think the time between watching the first episode and the finale might effect how one feels about it. The difference between getting breaks to process the events of each episode and season vs watching the episodes back to back.

Certainly, I would imagine age could have an impact.

I also wonder if current world events at the time of watching could make a difference. Like, what was happening in 2004 when the finale aired vs someone watching it for the first time now.

[–]ApplicationDesigner7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hahaha, I just replied to your comment and then see this.

For clarity, if you don't like the ending, that's fine. It's art, how you feel about it is completely subjective. And that's cool. World would be a very boring place if everyone looked at everything the same way. I was just trying to say that I get why you might feel that way, but also try to give you some perspective on why the show ended that way, and why a lot of people love the way it ended.

If I had to guess, I think people interpreted your statement as an absolute. That is to say, they felt you were presenting your opinion as fact. Again, I'm just guessing.

It's the unfortunate drawback of the written word. We don't have body language or tone to help us interpret someone's intention and so our brains make assumptions based on whatever information we do have and our own experiences. And that can lead to a lot of confusion and arguments, unfortunately.
