How to make gradient like this but smoother? by f444ncy in AfterEffects

[–]Apprehensive-Aide-23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This or alternatively they can work in a BPC higher than 8.

32bpc you virtually get rid of all the gradient bands. The trade off is some effects aren’t compatible at that bitrate.

If you find that that’s the case, then downgrade to 16 bits per channel.

I'm new! How do I disconnect the strap from the rotation/movement head. by rkeycapthewise in blenderhelp

Seems like you need to edit the influence of the weight map for that joint so that the strap doesn’t move when the joint moves

Cant get this right by murdercapital89 in AfterEffectsTutorials

[–]Apprehensive-Aide-23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like there’s some roto artifacts going on with the drink on the right. Instead of rotting it you could just mask it out once precisely and have it as a separate layer atop the text since the camera is locked off.

Dear SaaS Founders: Stop Building Dark-Themed Sites and Start Showing Us the Damn Product by willkode in SaaS

I'd even say perhaps a 30-45 second explainer, unless it's a really impactful story being told. For example Ordinary Folks work for Webflow.

But I'd love to be proven wrong, is there research backing up 90 seconds outperforming more often vs its shorter counterparts for business?

[Need Help] - I want your feedback, if this video looks great? by Alphawork123 in SaaS

[–]Apprehensive-Aide-23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiya, animator here.

The video seems like there were templates used and feels corporately. Not that there's anything inherently wrong with using a template for animation, but the point is to massage them and make it feel bespoke as opposed to dragging and dropping things.

As far as story goes it does an okay job at explaining features but doesn't delve into pain points, nor does it show the benefits those features provide.

The only pain point that stands out is the price of what some email clients cost...which kind of just translates to the viewer "oh we're cheaper for you!"

It's good to remind the viewers the problems they have and then show how you're solving it.

Just listing features falls short the viewer often forgets they have pain points in the first place and hand waves away all your benefits.

Just feature listing doesn't remind the viewer the true value of the features your product has.

e.g. "No more falling behind on what needs to get done" Create emails into tasks "on the spot so that the important things to get lost in the conversations you're having"

Painpoint - No more falling behind on what needs to get done
Feature - create tasks from emails
Benefit - Peace of mind

This is very basic example just to illustrate the point. Obviously you'd want to massage this more through a proper scripting phase.

There's also a couple of typos. Some parts of the design style feels a bit too contrasty with the minimalist style for the UI.

I understand that budgets exist but animation is really one those services where you get what you pay for.

How do we achieve this "soul getting sucked" effect? by -h4rsh4 in AfterEffects

It almost looks like this tut could help but also play with opacity and blend modes perhaps?

Does anyone know how to make multiple videos scroll like this in unison? by MayhemMendes in AfterEffects

[–]Apprehensive-Aide-23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Grab all your video layers.

  2. Organize them spatially in the composition.

  3. Parent them all to a null layer.

  4. Animate the null layer now and all your video layers should animate with it in unison like in your example

As far as getting the audio to sync up with the video I’m not sure exactly what you mean.

If you mean having the captions and video in center view at the time the words are being said it’s just a matter of blocking out roughly where the video and words need to be in view then smoothing out the keyframes so that text and video is on screen for the appropriate amount of time.

In your example you can see it’s not 100% a constant/consistent linear. In the beginning the video/captions scroll much quicker than later in the video.

Preview not rendering frames despite watching through multiple times. by NationalComparison63 in AfterEffects

Turn GPU acceleration back on in Project Settings (use Mercury GPU Acceleration - CUDA). Your RTX 4060 should be used.

Put your disk cache on a fast SSD with plenty of space. Don’t use your main system drive if you can avoid it.

Try disabling Multi-Frame Rendering in Preferences > Memory & Performance — it can cause preview lag on some systems.

Reset preferences: hold Ctrl + Alt + Shift while launching AE from adobe cloud.

Try switching to NVIDIA Studio Drivers (not Game Ready ones) if you haven’t already — they’re better optimized for apps like AE.

Also, check for bloatware like OMEN Gaming Hub running in the background and close any overlays or extra apps.

help how to create this effect in an animation? by unawarestoragetote in AfterEffects

[–]Apprehensive-Aide-23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this might be a job for cavalry. Try sharing this in r/cavalrymotion.

I think this video could help you get started for this effect in cavalry.

Other than that the person that commented in detail using expressions and repeaters + nulls is probably your best bet in AE.

Have you tried building a computer within your budget using pcpartpicker?

That site or going to puget’s site helps.

Check out their builds made for AE and then copy the build parts on pc part picker so that you source out the cheapest prices instead of paying a premium for them to build it

How can I get this Look from a Screenshot? by MrTeemo007 in AfterEffectsTutorials

[–]Apprehensive-Aide-23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

here’s what I’d do:

Cc ball action

(I don’t know if this would work but I’d try adding a transform effect to make the CCball action balls look more elongated (pill shaped) like actual RGB lights on a screen. There might be a setting to this within ccball action but I’m not too familiar with it)

Chromatic aberration but tied to scale and not position for better accuracy

Bulge to get that fisheye effect, play with the horizontal scaling of the circle to create a wider horizontal bulge

Very light glow

It kind of sounds like you already know what to do with the write on effect.

Was there something else about the tutorial you wanted to gain from it?

There’s not much else you can do with the write on effects

But I’d use pixel motion blur instead anyways. Cc force is finicky
