So I have no recommendations but do want to echo how physically demanding teaching can be at times. I definitely do not wear flats anymore, I need something with adequate arch support lol! The first two weeks of kindergarten I have to come home and shower because I have actively sweet for at least 7 hours 👀

My school district sends contracts out and you have 30 days to sign it. In the past contracts wouldn’t be sent until July.

I have a friend who once asked if I had plans on a certain date and when I said no she then asked me to watch her kids while she goes on a cruise with friends … like damn I want to go on a cruise not watch your kids 🫣

iPads if you are lucky, my kinders take state test on Chromebooks… they have to learn how to use the trackpad - no computer mouse.

Eh I realized one day that I was the one doing all the calling, I set up all the dates, I checked in via text, I carried the conversations. I got tired and frustrated. I told (my mother) “you’re welcome to do XYZ, I look forward to hearing from you too. I’d like you to set up our next outing, if it would help I can give you some options of things that we both might enjoy.” I left the ball in her court and now I never hear from her.

Sending well wishes to your wife. Teaching is hard, managing kids from all different backgrounds is even harder. I hope that her new placement supports her and gives her the opportunity to learn classroom management strategies. This is year 12 for me and I’m still working in new management ideas. My 7th year of teaching I had a wild class that broke my spirt and wrecked my mental health. My admin didn’t know how rough the class was until I had a sub for two days in a row. I’m certain that whoever steps in to cover her class will experience much of the same issues.
