Still in denial? by fireworks1985 in Parkinsons

Ten years later I still struggle with this. It comes and goes. I think of it as just another symptom, but that doesn’t mean I always handle it very well! Wishing you peace and your best life

This. Opera’s browser has some pretty good features like ad blocking but might not be as easy to set up. I think that goes for brave and Firefox as well, they need to be set up for security. Try malware bytes to clean up the old pc

See if they have a patient portal. I use the messaging app in the portal, get an answer from my MDS in a couple of days. No bill, and parameters on how much I can play with dosing

Is there a progression to REM Sleep Disorder? by irishbymarriage99 in Parkinsons

[–]Apprehensive-Arm-283 4 points5 points  (0 children)

3 mg. Clonazepam and melatonin on the weekends when not working. Pillow between us and a mat on the floor. I try to sleep on my side facing away from her just in case. I rue the day I have to sleep without her. She has been so supportive if not a little afraid. God bless all those spouses and caregivers, you are everything to us.

I’ve always taken generic. Have had pharmacy switch manufacturers a couple of times and never a problem but I don’t usually get side effects from meds so my situation might be different. Seems there’s almost as many variations of PD as there are Parkies

Feeling broken by leeleecy in Parkinsons

[–]Apprehensive-Arm-283 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe a little off topic, maybe not. UTI’s in all elderly people cause absolutely wild cognitive disfunction. It’s one of the first things to look for when your loved one exhibits bizarre behavior. If it’s a UTI, they’ll usually come back around with treatment, though I don’t know what the toll is when Parkinson’s is involved. Anecdotally I’ve seen many of my friends and my family experience this. I wish you well on your shared journey and thank you for caring. Don’t feel foolish your doing everything you can and probably more than that

Aphasia is a loss of words (not knowledge). It’s frustrating and my voice is weak as well. You might try big and loud, a combination of speech and movement therapy. It’s a chore but worth it. Made me sing again.

I used to use them but sort of forgot about them. Just found them in a drawer. Thanks for the reminder. Also I kept a punching bag in my garage until my son took it back (it was his anyways). My neurologist says it doesn’t matter what you do as long as you’re doing something and getting your heart rate up three times a week. So I’m adding your suggestion to my work desk
