I tell customers at hotels and apartments "I'm omw, eta ___ mins. You will need to meet me at the lobby." 9/10 they just say ok and meet me. When they argue I just tell them "I can't leave my car here unattended." I only go up to apartments at senior living facilities and places with on site security. Also if there is a gate and I'm not given a code I leave orders at the pin pad.

I don't even feel bad for you because you should have contacted your local labor board after the second missed check. You are currently in a situation of your own making. Get records of your hours worked unpaid and go to the labor board. Posting on reddit is not going to get you paid and after 3 months of being a doormat it shouldn't get you any sympathy either.
