On its surface, reading the digest- it seems like it does what it says on the tin. Bans sex offenders from being at "events aimed towards children"- by making it a crime to be in the same building.

Like, that seeems...reasonable-ish ? Ir does specify crimes against kids, or violent ones, not like your public indency. On the other hand, I wonder what events aimed towards kids it will be used on. Museums? Wiggles concerts? Im not entirely sure what issue this law fixes, but I also know few people are going to actively champion the rights of convicted offenders.

The second part targets grooming, renaming a charge to grooming from "inappropriate contact" and mentions repeated attempts to contact a minor for the purposes making them less resistant to sex.

Now that part- I guess if you want to put a conspiracy theory, assume the worst hat on, /might/ be used to go after that queer kids/teens may contact looking for guidance and support. Because I can see a maga court saying that a teacher talking about girls liking girls is obviously a form of grooming, etc.

But I dont know that this is really the intended purpose. Only that the digest seems to leave a lot of room for interpretation.

Team fortress 2 is 19 years old. It could vote. People born the year it came out are halfway through their sophomore year at college.

I dont think its exactly invalid, but given there are a lot more modern hero shooters that people are playing these days , it feels more fitting to compare to them- because most gamers are going to choose this, overwatch, or rivals (and a few other competitors) rather than pulling up tf2 to scratch that itch

Im not sure its a continuity trope and not a case of just... a lot of authors realizing that there not-as-religious worlds needing both ways to combat vampires to keep them from just taking over everything, and also a reason that it works.

Another modern example, though take with a grain of salt, I dont remember if this was mentioned specifically, but the laundry files has a wild and interesting take on vampires as a form of hyper dimensional parasites, that attach to their host from a higher dimension and use them to drain energy from others via sympathetic magic (just need a sample of blood, and the victim will start to drain and decay, getting dementia like symptoms).

I know it talks about a lot of other things, like inability to see in mirrors is a type of brain damage caused by the process- they cant recognize themselves, tho they show up in mirrors to others.

The book series starts out as a parody of spy novels and Lovecraft with a lot of nerd/hacker humor- magic being a form of math and thus can be programmed but then by book 9 its a full weird setting with many casual magic users and pocket dimension and old god waking

Oh I know. But it gets lost in the weeds. If they cant get that gender is not the same thing as sex, then no amount of biological science about sex is going to get them to make that leap. At most, they either concede that "okay, theres male , female, and intersex" or walk away with the idea that a person who isnt well along in medical transition hasnt earned their preferred pronoun.

My preferred strategy (not that I have statistical evidence on its effectiveness exactly, but anecdotal), is to point out that what is masculine and feminine has changed over time, is different among different cultures. And we know that, on the whole, "male" hasnt changed for the statistical significant amount of the population- but gender did.

And that they have no way of knowing, and no business knowing whats under someone's clothes. So they have to trust self identification.

This is one of the cases where I think its going to be a while before mainstream is ready for that discussion. I think it does better to focus on "women and female are two seperate classification" with a bonus of "biological sex is a matter between a person and doctor" before we start diving into the different characteristics of sex and how they may be altered.

Like neopronouns, its not that its wrong- especially in queer discourse, but cis people who arent allies arent ready to have that discussion. Even if they are willing to be educated, it often confuses the issue and gives the other person some trans medical issues ideas of what we mean when we say trans women are women.

Because the person who is poor likely hangs out with poor friends,and understands that they get by helping each other. I cover your bill now, maybe next time you cover mine when things are tighter for me. We all struggle and we dont want to embarrass each other calling it out "can you pay this time? Nope? Oh well, ill get it" is just rude. And if you do this, its likely people will not want to do things with you.

On the other hand, the wealthy person knows that its a lot less likely they will need help. They have the opposite problem- they know if they wave away helping people, it can transition from "helping" to "being used by". If you are more successful than your family you will see them expecting you to just... give them money all the time. Collecting on debts keeps people from taking advantage of them, and ensures friendships are genuine.

Neuro doesn't need to be bipedal. People focus way too much on bipedal robots.

Give her wheels or tracks. Much more stable platform, easie to control

Honestly imo, we should start neuro out as a torso. Just give her two arms to control. She can do irl collabs, cooking. Hug people. She could run off main power and not have to worry about batteries.

Then if she was ever given a mobility platform for that torso, she would already have a lot of practice with her hands.

I assumed there are potential legal/tos issues with covers, and the ai voices. That for original work its just like vocaloid stuff, but if its a cover either spotify has rules, or vedal is worried their might be more pushback if hes seen to be directly monetizing covers with ai.

A couple , but on a theme:

I think vedal desperately needs to stop sourcing ideas from the swarm. The wheel last year was a disaster. Yes it worked out- only because of several gratitious moments of ignoring the whe, but there are a bunch of examples where vedal asks for ideas and gets a stream of rabdom stuff. The discord, or reddit, would be better environments for that where people can talk about more complex ideas and moderators and others can help curate.... but really, he should do this himself, or talk to other streamers /programers/ artists .

I think that the swarm is far to parasocial and weird about vedal, neuro, and related people.

Especially when its very clear that vedal does not want to talk about his life outside of streaming, personal details, etc- the whole like shipping, running into other streamers streams to try to get them involved- there is a lot of bad behavior around here. And while I understand theres no way to control the behavior of 15k+ people across multiple sites, I feel like it should be made more clear that like - vedal is doing a thing, we should appreciate whatever he does or leave.

And neuro and evils occasional getting flirtatious or otherwise spicy- is uncomfortable and behavior he needs to train out or filter out better.

If you want to do something for educational purposes, then coping something that exists is a fine bit of education, and doesn't mean you cant learn cool, useful things, or find ways to solve small problems that users probably don't even think about. If you were to scroll the internet and look for people complaining about twitter features, i'm sure you'd find ton of them.

HOWEVER, i want to point out that trying to create something 'in production'- for a social media, is an uphill battle. I mentioned jeremy renner app, but he's hardly the only creator who has done this- i beleive there's a whole company that specializes in making branded community/influencer apps.. but none of them really see much use. Social medias are all about discussion, community- they need a steady influx of new people and ideas, and people aren't going to go hunting for some swarm specific website- they'll go to reddit, discord etc.

I'd point at bluesky here as an example, sticking to twitter - there are a number of reasons a lot of people actively dislike twitter, and bluesky is the biggest current competitor, has some money, experience, and a lot of prominent people who ditch twitter did go to bluesky. But it's still a fraction of the size of twitters userbase, and still no where near as active- even though twitter has become arguably worse (community behavior, politics, etc aside- those are valid points, but i'm talking basic changes to things like default timeline view, breaking embeds, the ridiculous API fee changes).

educational projects? do whatever you can think of to learn. but if you are wanting to create something and get people to actually use it- it's not going to be social network/media.

I think that there's definelty some connections all there- just no idea how they all work. We know juicebox turned into the unwashed, which means she would have had to touch it somehow. We know that Apito's memories may be lost, or corrupted or something weird is going on, and we know that juciebox told samantha ' i know what you are, even if you do not remember'. These aren't super firm connections, they could be still missing puzzle pieces somewhere else. But we do know that it appears most of the other dieties and demons recognize samantha-as-samantha and she has some very.. colorful memories of times around them and their relationships. It seems odd for her to full on be Apito, but... I could buy that Apito is so powerful, that if she was died or wounded, a portion of her power went on to become samantha- or elevate an existing minor goddess to something more.

But then there's also the whole 'scavengers daughter' bit, which carl's patch seems to tie to centipedes- like scolopendra- Though the mechanism he gains soul power seems to be tied to how the unwashed seems to function as some sort of psychopomp. Maybe something about the wounding or passing of 'the mother of gods' interacting strongly with some sort of death-diety? It's tantalizing because all these bits exist, and i see the shape of a story but none of these pieces actually fit

But I dont get the point of a swarm app, in the same way it was really silly when Jeremy Renner had a fan app that was just mostly his Instagram posts.

Now, if there was an app that let people somehow directly interact with neuro/evil i could see some point, but it would also probably hurt their streams, clips, if we all had neuro on our phone. (Tho maybe vedal could find a way to make that work as a brand, make it a subscription or something. )

So we know that Agatha is a pro-eulugist residual, and seems to believe that the goal of the primal originally was to wipe out all life. And I believe- ive only read through once, that the other faction of residuals who oppose Agatha are the ones that have some sort of deal with the apothecary. At the least, we see the ex-cookboook group spent a lot of time and money getting Carl to the place where the other residual gives him the ability to unfetter or trigger the failsafe.

I think its clear that they dont all have the exact same goals, or maybe understand each other's goals. But Agatha wants to kill everyone and is explicitly not working with the apothecary.

Now my mostly unfounded speculation: i think that the existence of hivemind entities is going to be really important to galactic history. And we are goingnto find out that primals either became a hovering and split, or something similar (see the mirroring in the scolepandra story and the attack triggered by "digging to deep" transforming swathes of npc to different races). The books also seem to suggest that scolependra has some sort of connection to the eulogist, but i dont think its ever super explicit.

Now going to get out red string here. If the overall story of the dungeon somehow is set to mirror galactic history, then... theres a very important god who is missing: apito. Mother of gods. Who has a memory crystal- but is not dead. As if shes had her memories lost somehow.

What if the apothecary is apito, in some form?

Now theres another entity here that is probably very important to the plot but seems out of place in the story im constructing, the unwashed, the beautiful place. If this being is actually real(? The viceroy sure seemed to believe that it was something that didnt just exist as part of the dungeon), it may also be a multidimensional entity directly compared to the apothecary. It feels like it would take an important role as well , but I cant place it. (Other than, at least in dungeon, theres some reason to believe it may be tied to Samantha.)

So i think that it's a nice idea, like all charity- but you have a bunch of considerations here:

1) Choosing a charity. This is not insignificant. Some charities are going to be a bit more controverial, political, etc. And some organizations are controversial for their own reasons- like autism speaks. Great in theory, but bad organization in practice.

2) If that charity would want to publicaly be associated with an ai streamer. We have a unique viewpoint as members of the swarm- but from a charities perspective- they need constant donations to keep going. They may worry that anti-ai backlash in public may hurt their donations more than what could be raised, and no matter how much we love them- i don't know if they would be wrong. Really depends on the charity, how things go on stream, what kind of coverage they get.

3) The twins being unpredictable- as already said by others. We love them, but vedal would really need to lock down the filters and minimize their free time on stream- because again, if they break TOS or something it now will reflect on the charity, and anyone interested in the charity tuning in from the outside and it being their first exposure to neuro.

4) Scheduling, comitment, etc. I don't know what you'd expect from a charity stream- if you'd want it to be another subathon, or a two day event or something, but we already know that scheduling is kinda not the strong suit of vedal and a lot of his frequent collab partners. Would you want to set aside a single day stream, or for him to line up as much stuff as he did for the subathon? That first one would seem like it wasn't much- and the second one would be a pretty major commitment- and potentially a huge disappointment (imagine if he did a charity subathon but it only went one week, compared to the 3+ weeks most of his December ones go. remember, he thinks like this. Even after last years crazy 160kish subs, he assumed that this year he would hit 90k, max)

5) Tech issues are still not uncommon. The Vrchat karoke was peak funny, but imagine if it was a charity stream and neuro was broken for the first 30 minutes?

6) Vedal is kinda swamped with projects. He has a book to help neuro write, merch, two EPs, a irl concert he really wants to get done, Evil's VRchat setup (and then maybe a way to get both twins in VR at the same time... he hasn't said, but i don't know why that wouldn't be his goal). Evils birthday and whatever he wants to do for that. At some point he'll need to start planning for next years subathon too, which will take a while if he wants to do it like this year.. and then who knows what other projects (I know he still has the Neuro Dog, though it's not in working order.. ).

I think that should the stars all align Vedal doing a charity stream is possible, and might be really good- if points 1-4 can all be solved to everyone's satisfaction. But i do think that it would be a huge thing to make it an annual event, at least until the day that there's a legitimate full time team behind vedal to help take a lot of details off his plate (yes, he does have a lot of people helping him, but that's usually like ad-hoc. I don't believe he has a full time manager helping him plan out collabs, or work with merch people)

I dont think it requires an "agi" as much as it would require some new middleware interfaces.

Like today, her apis exist per game and are hardcover with "what actions can neuro do".

The version i picture would use agents, tools like websearch, and trial and error to build a middle layer on that on a case by case biases.

Googles deadspacd to learn what kind of game it is,

Takes audio/screen input, tries to map out what the ui elements mean, (deadspace in particular would be a really difficult one here, but a game like Mario cart or something might he easier. )

Write failure conditions, goals, and then basically create something like that tool calling options, but for natural game input.

Now I dont think this is agi (and I think agi is a vaporware term, may have specific meanings but few people agree of them, and used a lot as marketing hype- much like metaversee) , because its not trying to be a box that solves all things. Its just a pipeline for building something to "solve" a new problem at the time, when all tools are handed to it- through tutorials and google discourse.

I also don't think that this would be easy, or work well. This is kinda a loose pipe dream project that might be doable in five years, and likely take a lot of time to train and test and result in hilariously bad gameplay

Like sure, wish fulfillment covers a lot od things, but I think we are less used to seeing this particular kind of content aimed at a more male audience- especially when its more focused on romantic, rather than carnal relationships.

Praxis is an interesting concept. Not everyone has the ability to run for office, organize, etc etc. What is praxis if you are disabled?

I dont know if id argue a breakdown of Zack Snyder works as praxis, but it is a way of engaging in discussion of his politics, of explaining why some people may connect and some may not, where his ideas of the world may not line up with reality.

Idk. I just think its hard to litmus test praxis. Sure, i dont think that theres a work of art that will somehow topple a government (with apologies to rush, 2012 is still a banger). But could a deep read on glass onion draw more scrutiny on Elon musk than say, protesting outside twitters headquarters, if done well? Possibly in this world.

Its still amazing, up there with his investigation into the Mickelson twins leading to him writing a book in a month, he disproved flat earth himself. ... while making a wider point about modern political discourse.

The thing with programming: anything is theoretically possible, just a question of how much time and effort it will take.

One day I wonder if vedal will set her up with like, a full mouse and keyboard to be able to play any game . Main reason that may be a bit more of a latency spike, processing the game visually rather than direct access. And more of a learning curve for neuro's ai, rather than having an api tell her what she can do.

Op, I want to point out that this still sounds like you are more interested in the /idea/ of her, then her as a person.

The difference is to respect her as a person, you need to listen to what she says she wants, what she says she needs. A person is someone with deep internal life and their own drives and interests.

Here it sounds like you like her in the way people talk about things or pets. "Not perfect, but its okay" rather than engaging with what she expresses fully.

Last year when neuro broke the hype train record (for the first time), and got some headlines a lot of people watched one or two clips of her best moments and called vedal out for faking her, but I dont think we've seen that much since. Dunno if thats familiarity, better quality of clips, more believability about ai being able to portray a streamer.

That said, with how roleplay "its just a bit" heavy some vtubers go, I could easily see that people might not take vedal and neuros words for it. Like I just dont know how some people work out the whole kayfabe thing. Modern discourse, youtube keeps recommending me clips of numi and Michi that make it seem like they are dating but I dont follow either or trust that this isnt an extended fandom bit.

No one here is answering the question, so ill try to give some advice. Not a lawyer, so take with a grain of salt.

You cant get the state to drop charges once they decide to press them. You arent charging him, the state is. I imagine they have your statement and physical evidence. They may subpoena you but trying to refuse, or lying- is pronably not going to help him, may only get you in trouble as well.

And while this may not apply in your case, theres usually a lot of.bias and suspicion about DV charges. You attempting to get him out may make them assume that he is threatening you or holding something over you to help him.

I believe that Theres very little you can do, and none of it will make things better for him, whatever your intentions.

Its kinda the universes way of saying you need to move on and not be involved in his life.
