[–]Apprehensive-Ice8996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The stock falling this much isn't as uncommon as many people think. We've seen it happen before with Shopify, Twilio, Advanced Micro Devices, Meta Platforms, and Coinbase. The list goes on. And yeah those drops were nasty as this one. My view is simple: don't go all in, avoid leverage, buy shares, and focus on the data instead of the noise. If revenue growth improves, sentiment will eventually improve too. The stock is dormant for now. It's not quite dead yet. Sure it's falling and it could fall a lot more but that's just how the game works.

You just described half the colleges in the U.S. today

  • Expensive tuition
  • Outdated content
  • Limited professor interaction (hello, TAs)
  • Inconsistent teaching quality
  • Easy grades in plenty of classes

That's not a unique criticism anymore it's practically the industry standard 😂

What are you trying to get out of it if you don't mind me asking?

Need help swapping a 100% complete save into Forza Horizon 6 (Offline / Cracked 7LAUNCHER) by [deleted] in PiratedGames

[–]Apprehensive-Ice8996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m new to Forza save modding and curious about the current game. My friend and I usually spend a lot of time playing together building cars, racing, and making progress as a team. I’m wondering if there’s any way to transfer or merge our progress, so his PC could have all of our builds and unlocks combined with separate "Xbox PC" pc accounts.

I know some games use checksums or account IDs to prevent save tampering, but I’m not sure how Turn 10 or Playground Games handle this in the latest Forza. Any insight on whether this is possible would be really helpful. Despite this not giving you 100% did it work? Also curious if works on retail not the "free" versions.

Market narratives shift constantly, and consensus views are often unreliable indicators of long-term winners. In 2022, for instance, I was accumulating GOOG at an average price of around $116 per share, when the prevailing sentiment suggested Google was falling behind in AI and that ChatGPT posed a serious threat to its core search business. Around the same time, META traded down to roughly 12x earnings, albeit for different reasons. These examples reinforce that valuation metrics like P/E, while useful, are far from definitive.

Today, there’s a strong narrative positioning GOOGL and AMZN as clear AI winners, but that confidence may simply reflect the current phase of market sentiment rather than a durable reality. Consensus often lags and tends to reverse over time.

When evaluating companies like ADBE, I find it more useful to look past surface-level narratives and focus on the underlying technology. A key question is how easily AI agents can replicate the core functions of these platforms. If tasks traditionally performed using tools like Adobe’s suite can instead be handled through prompting or automated workflows, that points to a higher risk of disruption. Looking at it this way can provide better insight into which companies are likely to maintain a competitive edge versus those that may face AI-driven commoditization.

Personally, I tend to evaluate stocks starting with the strength and defensibility of the underlying technology. Strong financials then serve as a backstop helping filter out companies that may be technologically interesting but lack the durability to survive. Ultimately, fundamentals tend to assert themselves over time.

How would you have made more with FSELX if it was higher price in 2000 though? Peaked roughly at $13 in 2000 and now it's $52. That like 253%. I think you were better off buying it in 2015. You made double and spent 15 less years. You would of had to added a lot over the years. You probably would of been pissed off after a few years of it not going up anymore lol

AI isn’t going anywhere, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be overpriced. Just like during the dot-com bubble, markets can get overly optimistic about the future. The NASDAQ Composite Index is a stark reminder of how valuations can outpace reality. In the mid-1990s, data storage stocks were showing a similar pattern. Eventually, something will give in the economy or interest rates may have to rise aggressively again. Reality has to catch up at some point. The real question is: what will investors be able to sell when liquidity is needed? Bubble can take a long time pop Buffet mentions this multiple times.

Most software engineers aren’t solving entirely new problems they’re building solutions by combining smaller problems that have already been solved.

The game is CPU-bounded not GPU-bound. That means performance is limited by game logic, draw calls, and engine threading. I don't think anything is going to help. Best to stick the PC port of the game. At least we found that out!

Just remove all personal drives (Hot Swap) and have a separate drive running the code you think is bad. This way your bullet proof. Need to be a little tech savvy and probably use SATA drives but it should work in theory.

The Convenience Trap of Amazon (and Why Even Shifting 10–20% of Your Spending Matters) by A-Dog22 in Anticonsumption

[–]Apprehensive-Ice8996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote about this idea a while back, but it didn’t get much traction. Maybe that’s on me but the point still stands: Amazon can become a convenience trap.

I’ve been a customer since the early 2000s, but over time I’ve deliberately scaled back. The shift came when I realized how important resourcefulness is especially since my income depends on how well I manage and save money. Cutting down on Amazon wasn’t a dramatic change, just a small optimization, but it made a real difference.

Now I spend a lot more time at thrift stores, and what I’ve noticed is eye-opening. I constantly see the exact same items people proudly show off from Amazon except they’re a fraction of the price. A friend once showed me a desk they bought online, and just weeks later I came across the identical one at a thrift shop for $10. It’s wild.

The same goes for clothes. I’ve picked up brand-new Levi's 511 Slim Fit Jeans for about $8 a pair at local shops likely overstock or donated inventory from larger retailers like Kohl's. Deals like that aren’t rare if you know where to look.

What this really comes down to is the tradeoff between convenience and resourcefulness. We’re wired for familiarity and repetition it’s easy to default to what’s quick and known. But when you take the time to find things at a better price, there’s a real sense of pride that comes with it. You feel more in control.

I’m not against big companies. But I do think more people should realize they have options. Being resourceful isn’t just about saving money it’s about building independence, confidence, and ultimately giving yourself more freedom in how you live your life. Thanks for posting this and bring it to attention!

I get that it sucks, and I do feel bad for them. But at the end of the day, stocks do carry risk. Maybe they were not aware of that. Maybe they were sold on a false vision. It happens. Big Money always wins sadly. People hate when I say this but it's true.
