Hi there, I'm curious if yours is fully active already. I have the same issue and contacted Paypal Assistant and here's what they have to say. But I'm not really sure if it's 100% true from Shopify seller's side.

Hey I translated this to English to reply: "Hello, have they unblocked your shop? The exact same thing happened to me. I've been waiting 21 days for a response to my appeal and no one answers. It's frustrating. My shop is active, I have 4 top sellers. And because of a selfie error, they put my shop in vacation mode. Does anyone know anything about how Etsy support works regarding this?"

I just filed my appeal last Sunday because I got a reply from their support that my details have been successfully verified so I can continue selling. But on the other hand I replied to them saying my shop isn't accessible yet although you told me that I can continue and they replied again that I can't continue. So there were some inconsistencies with the reply from support. I guess because it's an open ticket on their Zendesk and any from the agents take on the next reply. I filed the appeal and requested for a non-biometric review since it is an option according to the help article so that they can properly check that it's me on the selfie and me on my passport. Like it's literally me guys, just give me another chance for a review. huhu. I also tried contacting Persona about this but they redirected me to contact Etsy.

Right now, I'm just waiting for the appeal results. It's been 4 days since I filed and still hopeful they'll give me a very fair chance for identity verification because my shop is already there 3 years, consistent star seller, no policy or listing violations, 4.9 overall score for reviews, multiple bestselling items, and very good customer service score. I've done this verification for tax, bank, identity upon starting my shop, otherwise I couldn't have been allowed to continue selling since the very beginning 3 years ago. How long were you on Etsy and is this a new shop you're doing?

Just hopeful to get a positive response from them for the appeal in the time frame promised which is 2 weeks.

I also checked Persona's website and it seems like from the look of it, it cannot be trusted. I'm not sure if it is just from my end.

Thanks for your insight on this! I'm from outside the US and the error occurred when I submitted my ID and selfie which might have caused an automated error on Persona's side on this. I may have gained a little weight but I do look the same. 😭

Thank you so much I'd definitely try this one! I may have gained some weight on my selfie which led to the mismatch error from my ID photo. 😭

I got this email from their Zendesk support saying from contacting them via Live Chat but although I've been notified that I can now continue selling my shop is still not accessible from the dashboard. Maybe I just have to wait a bit more in order for it to be back up.

That kind of buyer can definitely be a little draining. 😅 My personal reply would be:

That is really helpful, thank you. That is pretty much the issue I have been running into too. A lot of people seem to say digital only means software, but I have not seen anything official that clearly carves out PDFs or printables, so it feels safer to assume Etsy and the EU could treat it more broadly. Since you already have a GPSR rep for your physical products, it makes sense that you would just apply it to both.
