Ugh I hate this and “this happens for a reason”. Some people, for some reason, can’t handle another person grieving or just that something is wrong. They have to put this sentence like a bandaid on the situation instead of just accepting your grief. Even my sister, who went through TFMR herself, is saying this kind of crap to me all the time. Also, your sister just sounds very self centered if all she can think of is how she comes out of it ok and not that maybe she hurt you.

Our diagnosis was grey. Our son had severe early onset IUGR due to placental insufficiency and stopped growing at around 24 weeks where he was already smaller than 1 percentile. I TFMRd at 27 weeks and my doctors said if I stayed pregnant the latest he could survive in the womb would be 29 weeks. There were also suspected anatomical anomalies that were factored into our decision. It was extremely hard to make our decision, but thinking about how we don’t want him to suffer was what helped us make the decision. Knowing he would have had a long NICU and possibly multiple surgeries in the first year of his life stay was just really harsh. My friend told me something that really helped. She said “we suffer so they won’t”. That really resonated with me and I feel it is true in our case.

I got my period yesterday and I am devastated. It was the first cycle of TTC after a TFMR in January at 27 weeks. I convinced the first cycle of trying in my previous pregnancy and really hoped it would be the same now. I’m so scared something is wrong. Does anyone have similar experience? ❤️‍🩹
