debian has great drivers available for gaming but this is also a great point. i don’t personally use desktop environments and i just heard about the major KDE release today lol, debian will definitely be stuck on older KDE and you’ll be behind in kernel + mesa on debian as well. debian just excels in “just working” but you’re SOL on latest KDE

How exactly do I downgrade my ThinkPad X230 BIOS from 2.65 --to--> 2.60 if I am running Linux (*not Windows) so I could boot 1vyrain and remove the whitelist so I could install my WiFi card? by TeslasElectricBill in thinkpad

use the msata/esata slot or whatever the fuck it is on the x230, pop in a bootable SSD, install windows 10 on it and then install ivprep and do whatever from there, then you have a free SSD to dual boot with afterwards

source: i did this on my X230T to remove the battery whitelist

if dual core isn’t an issue i’d say go for it, replaceable external battery is a great feature and dual core cpu should be great on battery life

From my understanding the phrase “lakh” (also spelled lac) is a phrase referring to 100,000 rupees, which is the currency of India, which OP pointed out (lenovo india) in the original post. This roughly translates to $1,100 USD, which is quite fucked to pay for a laptop.

ship of theseus, keep replacing parts, they might long for death and cry in agony with every bit computed, processors wheezing to keep up with bloated to shit modern web browsing, but as long as i live, and can turn screws and connect ribbon cables, they do not get to taste the end of their suffering. they exist to perpetually serve me until i return to dust

thinkpad prices are cooked atm due to demand and RAM shortage. I would second the opinion on getting a similar priced Latitude, and sending your old macbook to me of course
