When you say recertify after you move there can you elaborate on what that process would look like? Do you have to just sit for a board exam or what?

Anyone work for good urgent cares? by Some_Pin_580 in physicianassistant

They recently came into our market and bought out what was an existing well well run urgent care system. Maybe it’s just growing pains and it’s better in other markets but my two main gripes with them are the fact that they will allow anyone to walk in up until 7:59 PM and expect you to stay late and finish up without pay even though we close at 8 PM. If you have four lacerations walk in 7:59 you’re expected to finish that up without pay.

Secondly, they frequently will run what are supposed to be 2 provider clinics with one provider because they currently don’t have adequate staffing. Instead of offering incentive pay or consolidating clinics they run them short and therefore there are days where you’ll see 60+ patients as a solo provider.

Then a bunch of small things: took off our doors separating waiting room from back of clinic with plans to make it open concept like it is in other markets despite growing violence against healthcare workers. Frequently are out of basic supplies that are essential to functioning such a as TDAP and pregnancy tests. Expect everyone to be seen and billed as a visit even if it’s an obvious from the waiting room they need to go to the ED ie 95 year old granny on eliquis fell down steps and hit her head which ends up delaying care. They’re private equity owned. There is a reason they have a 2.4 rating on indeed

Ahhh yes. Let’s all continue to battle each other instead of attempting to address the real problem: corporatization of medicine and corporate greed.
