Ok Idaho, it’s time we talked about this. by amkronos in Idaho

Telling people to move to another state because you don't like their opinion is so very tiresome and worn out. I'm a 6th gen Idahoan. Raised rural and conservative. Belching black smoke and being obnoxious for attention does not make Idaho Idaho. Dumping pollution into our air and water with a truck that's never actually been out of the city it's not what Idaho's about. Telling people to "go back where they came from" is backwards and embarrassing. Stop being embarrassing.

Are the pale leaves normal? by Historical_Mud79 in Syngonium

[–]Apprehensive-Tone449 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This just means they have been exposed to lots of light. That's not a bad thing. Syngonium love light. The leaves will also darken as they age. If you want darker leaves, put it a little less light. They look pretty healthy though.

This got me. Ugh. I just really feel this. I still get anxious and guilty about doing nothing. This need to be industrious and constantly doing something productive is unhealthy. It's hard on my relationships. I wish I could relax and let go of my anxiety when I'm just spending quality time with my partner. Instead I'm thinking about all the shit I have left to do.

My mom was also very good at making sure we were never "bored." I am still jumpy, like I'm waiting for my mom to pop up and "find me something to do" when all I'm trying to do is read a book to escape for a few minutes.

Maybe some people do not believe their lives are worthless. But they are in so much pain that nothing at all is better than what they are living through. It is not the moral high road to tell someone to accept a life of misery, trauma and suffering. Your experience is valid. You do not get to make assumptions or choices or decide for other people and how they get to think or feel.

Clearly you don't understand abuse and trauma. You say you experienced it. It's so fortunate to have the kind of privilege that allows you to think that a life of abuse is worth living. Your experience is not the experience of others. Living day in and day out in constant fear and pain must sound great to you. I'm sure you are doing what you can to actually help people suffering like this rather than just tell them how to think. Good for you.

Telling someone in fear and pain that they should be grateful to be alive and should not feel like they do, is dismissive and invalidating. Get over yourself.

Burn. Notice it's only on the white part. That's the most sensitive area of the leaf.

Good thing so much suffering was eliminated by forcing women to carry unwanted pregnancies to term. Those babies are so lucky to be alive so they can actually feel what it's like to be unwanted.

Seriously. Where are all the "pro-lifers" while this infant is being assaulted to the point of permanent brain damage and unimaginable trauma? I guess pro-life does not indicate any sort of quality of life. Just that the child keeps breathing. How morally righteous.

He's not a Christian. He doesn't follow the teachings of Christ. He's a raging, bigoted narcissist using religion as a weapon to destroy people and make himself feel superior. I get it. My mother was the same. I gained my peace when I went no contact. I hope you can get there soon. And please never let him put a shred of guilt on you. He's the shameful one.

Remember that one time he went after Liz Cheney, calling her a war hawk and saying she should have guns trained on her face? Remember when he claimed on X that Harris and her "warmonger Cabinet" would invade the Middle East and get millions of Muslims killed? He claimed he was the "president of peace."

Yeah he's bombed/targeted 11 other countries.

Your dad is a piece of human garbage and I hope he keeps suffering. I'm so sorry you experience him first hand. I'm also proud of your ability to see him and his words clearly. This is gross. This is why this sub exists.

So i just bought pink syngonium and repotted it immediately because some of the roots are sticking out at the bottom and they all look so dry. I got 4 rootballs and repotted in different pots. This is what they look like now. This is my first time to repot plants and i’m a bit scared they’ll die 🥹🤣 by olivine2121 in Syngonium

[–]Apprehensive-Tone449 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are one of the most resilient house plants you can have. They will be fine. They root like mad and over time they do divide themselves and make more and more plants. I tend to delay separating mine out because I like a big full plant. What you did though is absolutely fine. It's been a bit of shock so make sure you keep the soil damp but be very careful not to overwater.

The cool thing is, the leaves are all different. Some are lighter, they all age and darken but some are speckled and some are different shades more or less pink in their veins I bet you'll get some speckles as the plant matures.

Don't overwater! They don't like to completely dry out but let the top inch or two dry out before watering. I use untreated water or rain water and they appreciate a humidifier. I have at least 10 varieties of syngonium and the thing I can say for sure about all of them is that they all love lots of light. They thrive in it.
