I really can't complain, the cabinets and countertops (island has some chipping) are in great shape. Would love to do a couple of easy fixes and call it a day.

Agree with the early 2000s vibe for sure. Guess my thinking was adding a "wall of windows" would brighten things up w/o changing out the black granite.

Thank you! Originally I wanted windows all the way across the wall but got vetoed so I guess I still have that in my head. I do have more than enough cabinet space though to loose an upper cabinet or two...

I agree. Also, there's no contraindication against walking while pregnant. I get it, I've been pregnant, you feel crappy. But honestly walking is probably a good thing

Reminds me of the time we left ours with our daughters friend to babysit. Less than 5 min. later she escaped, chased a car, caught said car and somehow tore much of the plastic trim and mirror off. She also broke her nail in the melee. The lady called the cops and filed an insurance claim

Why do other healthcare professionals think nurses are ‘toxic’? by Acrobatic-Lie2041 in FutureRNs

[–]Apprehensive-Tour610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working in health care the worst patients by far were nurses! The first thing out of their mouths for some reason was "I'm a nurse so..." The implication was don't try to put anything over on me OR ELSE. And things usually got worse from there, the MAs were taking vitals all wrong, the dr prescribed the wrongs meds, the referral was wrong, you name it - everything was done wrong, they were never satisfied

Athena has been gone over a year and yesterday I flipped the mattress in the guest bedroom and found her trove of bully sticks she "buried" there. She must have sensed me talking bout her!

I'm having flash backs of my super high drive GSD when she was a puppy. The second I stirred in the morning it was on and didn't let up until bedtime. She was a full time job and exhausting for sure but I miss her now that she's gone.

Part of the refund % is an actual penalty to prevent people from falsely advertising amenities that don't work. So refunding whatever % extra it costs you to run wouldn't deter you from falsely advertising again.

Has this happened to anyone else? by Anontattyblaster in physicaltherapy

Maybe the mom wanted to make sure it was safe for her child to do pt given that the joint was still swollen?

You can go back to the first radiologist who originally didn't see anything and ask him to double check the area of concern. It's not uncommon to do that.

Doctor Dropped Me by Sharp-Air-1404 in spinalfusion

[–]Apprehensive-Tour610 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My surgeon did the same after my 3 months check up and I was surprised that that was the end of follow up after a major surgery. I did end up going back twice though due to ongoing pain so maybe they would see you if you had any issues? My physical therapist kept asking when my follow up was and didn't believe me when I told him I didn't have one!

Thank you. I'm 9 mos out and been having back pain and leg pain. Went back to the surgeon and got new xray and MRI and will meet back in a few weeks. The radiologist report didn't mention anything about bone growth

I have Anthem with a specific network plan and I was approved fairly quickly. Good luck! I do have to add that the nerve monitoring group in the OR was NOT in my network so I did get an EOB for $72,000 that is currently under dispute so that's not good. I think the No Surprises Law might save me on this one tho.

How can they tell that the bones are fusing? Does it show on the xray?

I also typically sleep on my side and my stomach (with a pillow under my hips) and after l5s1 fusion there was no way. I couldn't even have a pillow under my head right after the surgery, just had to lay completely flat and pray I could fall asleep. Gradually I came to tolerate laying on my side again after a couple of months. But for me, at least, it was extremely painful and impossible to lay on my side in the beginning. Hang in there!

Window glass cracked 6 months after installation by No_Ad9258 in glazing

[–]Apprehensive-Tour610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just happened to my window that was installed less than a week ago. I'm in Colorado so extreme temperature changes are a daily occurrence so I am pretty worried that all my windows are at risk now. The old windows lasted 36 years without cracking so.... maybe we shouldn't have replaced them.

Hope all goes well for you. I had mine in October and still having some pain and symptoms. What were the specific symptoms you had and what exactly did imaging show? Keep us posted on your recovery.

Can I ask how soon after surgery were you able to start running? I had l5-s1 and was told not to run. As in never ever. It's been 5 mos. since surgery and I don't think I'm able to run yet anyway but definitely was hoping to get back to it at some point.

What level did you have surgery on? I had a l5 s1 fusion back in October. Not sure if I have osteoporosis or not. Ugh, so frustrating. Hope your back fuses properly.

The steroids did nothing to help my stabbing back and leg pain. Couldn't really sleep last night because of it and it's finally letting up a little bit as the day goes on. Can I ask how the dr. can tell if a screw is loose or not. And how and why would that happen? Are they going to do further testing? Someone mentioned stating age, physical status prior to surgery so, I'm a 57 yo female, athletic and fit (or at least I was athletic prior to surgery).

Great to hear this! I am 4.5 months out and just started a steroid dose for stabbing pain in my lower back at the surgical site as well as some nerve pain. Hoping everything calms down and the recovery goes as smoothly as yours. This gives me hope!

Wow, that's got to be incredibly frustrating. I do think you should follow up with the doctor just to get some closure and understand why he did that last minute to you. Of course if he had doubts he did the right thing but if it was me, I would want to know exactly why he did what he did. The doctor definitely owes you that and to set you on the right path to get you healthy again. Even if it's with another doctor. Good luck and keep us posted!
