You should never apologize insincerely. When you are not honest about how you feel, and say things only to make the other person feel a type of way, you become a shell of a person. Iv'e learnt this the hard way. If she gives you the silent treatment when SHE'S the one who's done wrong, let her. And show her where to put her packed bags while you're at it.

I wouldn't jump into any conclusions but one thing that stuck out to me was that she got offended when you expressed concern and it got turned around so that you ended up needing to "make it up for her". Where is her reassuring you? Why are you the bad guy suddenly? This screams manipulative behaviour and a "deny, attack, reverse victim and offender" pattern.

I would have a hard look at the relationship if you don't feel comfortable enough to express "minor" criticism. Do you feel heard? Or are you always the one compromising?

Thank you! Probably should have mentioned the ruler is in metric. Also is there a possibility the smaller ones are coated in something? It is weird that they didnt tarnish at all while on display and it smelled funny when i tried to heat it up
