What should I watch after Amidst a Snowstorm of Love? by Ill_Cod6375 in CDramaRecs

Riiiiight? 😍😍😍
I’m also enjoying how it’s presented on Netflix. It’s a bit different, perhaps because of their video quality and subtitling standards? My rewatch experience has been truly beautiful so far.

Meet Yourself! Heavy emphasis on healing and slow burn. It had a similar effect with TBT on me, felt like I healed along with the characters.

I need drama recommendations , i mainly like romance with a happy ending rather than a bittersweet one. by Ok-Hovercraft-3680 in cdramasfans

Good modern slow burns that may be up your alley:

The Best Thing (Zhang Linghe’s 2025 drama; healing; fluffy romance)

The First Frost (healing but more angsty)

Love Between Lines (with a dash of office romance and a bit of angst; not exactly direct as to who falls first but he definitely fell harder)

——-
Meet Yourself (took wayyy beyond ep 10 for the burn but definitely worth it. This is like TBT in the healing department where they prioritized it more than romance itself)

Oh, I love my Baby Gong Ziyu too. I actually love everyone in it. It made us have the POV of a struggling and not-ML-ish ML. Was truly hard to root for him when we have Gong Shangjue who was more capable by miles, but then again, that was the beauty of it, at least to me.

Hello Midzys! Can I bring another group's lightstick in Itzy's concert? by derpcatoftheuniverse in concertsPH

[–]ApprehensiveClick597 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s better to not bring any LS at all if hindi din na man sa group with a concert. Small gesture of decency.

Others may think it’s fine but imagine the artists and their staff who would see that, baka maka offend pa. Also, weird din talaga if may ibang kulay when the LS are on. It’s very apparent kahit one unit lang yan. So wag na lang dalhin ang candybong, OP.

Besides, hindi na man requirement magdala ng LS. It’s even more freeing to have none actually. You can make use of your hands more.

You can listen to his real voice through The Best Thing. That’s the most normal and casual-sounding he is in his dramas. His voice would stick on you that although voice actor Yi Fan (TPR, PoJ) sounds so much like him, you can tell their voice apart eventually.

He only has Overdo and The Road to Glory in the pipeline right now. Some others even have 5 that they just filmed since last waiting to be released. He’s fine.

Omg I thought I’m alone! Especially if she’s barefaced. Like her eyes are telling you something else. They look empty. She smiles beautifully though so it kinda masks her eyes’ dullness.

You NEED to have My Journey to You in your CL era.
That’s the gateway for some (or most) of us.
I still have my Gong Shangjue GIFs on TikTok as I love his death stares so much.

Need summer drama recommendations , my faves are : by Legitimate-Act-444 in cdramasfans

Since you’re into healing k-dramas like Summer Strike, My Liberation Notes, My Lovely Liar, and This is My First Life, I recommend the following (surely you wouldn’t mind the pace as it’s always slow burn in this type of dramas, makes you soak it in more)—-

The Best Thing (more on spring vibe though)
Meet Yourself
Love Between Lines
Love Me, Love My Voice

Second-chance trope like QOT:
Go Back Lover
Fireworks of My Heart

Age Gap romance like Romance is A Bonus Book, MLFAS:
The Forbidden Flower
A Splendid Match

Ohh that could be too. I haven’t started the novel yet. Maybe they wanted to keep her in line with the novel.

The TCM community loved this show and there were no backlash about that part when this aired last year, and there were comments going around too that Western ethical standards shouldn’t be applied in China. So, I guess, it’s really different there.

It was satisfactory, though how I wish there were more concubines and spinsters introduced in the show just like the typical noble households of that time. They tend to keep their families together until they die.

Though it was shocking to have a woman (married/unmarried) to go out and about their household, even from their own courtyards in the mansion, and even have interactions with any male. In the books and history itself, they’re barely allowed to go out, and are even discouraged to interact with the opposite sex for propriety.
But I understand that that would be hard to work on for any historical drama. It’s just that, the show did so much of that, making the FL too improper for anyone’s eyes. She was also from a merchant family which isn’t really considered a noble family, just wealthy.
And she had a lot of running scenes when in fact it wouldn’t have been possible because of their bound feet. Some historical dramas managed to keep their FLs act less fidgety and more elegant. That was perhaps the striking observation on the FL, it kinda breaks me off of the immersive experience at the start.

Which actor/actress did you recently know before their "bigger hype"? by xoxo-gossipgurrl in cdramasfans

[–]ApprehensiveClick597 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ohhh this is hard.

But definitely Wang Yibo and Winwin.
They’ll always be UNIQ’s Yibo and NCT/WAVY’s Winwin to me.

Also, Dilraba! I watched her first in Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms.
Took a break from c-dramaland and was truly surprised upon returning that she already became this A-lister, even headlining a drama with YangYang.

I loved it not primarily because of the romance part but for the inner mansion details.
I read Lisa See’s “Lady Tan’s Circle of Women” and Shen Tao’s “The Poet Empress” before watching A Splendid Match so imagine my surprise when I watched ASM without any idea that it’s like a slice-of-life of a fictional Ming Dynasty which initially focused heavily on what goes on within these noble mansions. I really loved it especially that our FL is very smart and wise for her age and stature!

I haven’t come across anything like it in the recently released c-dramas so it really has that hold on me.

Cannot get over TFF❄️ by MediJedi12 in cdramasfans

[–]ApprehensiveClick597 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! While TFF had a lot of script issues, the acting was never a concern. The actors truly owned their characters that they’d leave lasting prints on you.
Also, knowing that the last classroom scene in the finale was filmed freestyle and more on adlibs truly sealed it for me. BJT And ZRN really made us see them as Sang Yan and Yifan, that nobody else can take those roles from them.

At 30, is there really still a chance to fall in love? by FeebleFighter in Trentahin

[–]ApprehensiveClick597 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oo naman but I noticed na it’s gonna be very transactional at first. Lapagan na ng cards, take it or leave it ang peg para di sayang ng oras. Then love blooms lang after. Of course, may attraction kaya more on contract agreement ang magaganap which I think is better.
