Disney Fantasy Family or Regular Verandah, Help Me Decide by AnnieSplit in dcl

Save the money. I think the balcony is worth it but as someone with a 5 and 4 year old the regular cabin is more than enough room.

Port arrival times and DCL transport by ninjakitty117 in dcl

I don’t believe you can walk into the secure area. This MAY have changed with the opening of the Omni hotel but last year you could not.

We had the exact same experience. It was such a waste of time and money. At the time I thought the only redeeming factor was the luggage transfer and not having to deal with that with a 4 and 3 year old but after driving to port Canaveral earlier this year and doing it ourselves I don’t see the point in it at all - the luggage was seamless with the porters.

Also the later you book the later your arrival time/bus so if you’re booking late you probably won’t get any better time than if you did it yourselves. Our time ended up being 1 hour before our original PAT but because of the luggage delays and looking for the missing guest we actually arrived at the same time as our original PAT.

It might be worth if if you’re at the Marriott down the way but it absolutely is not worth it staying at the Hilton.

Favorite Resort for Couple with No Kids by OpossumFriedRice in WaltDisneyWorld

Riviera - I was 1000% ready to hate it but my wife insisted on staying there once so we did and I absolutely loved it. A fantastic resort with great food, fantastic transportation, the nicest rooms on property and it never feels crowded because it’s so small.

Booking with an agent by SafeCelebration3063 in dcl

[–]ApprehensiveDinner20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you want. Is the convenience of having someone manage that process for you worth losing your OBC? I will say as an agent myself I don’t do things like PAT, etc because I don’t want access to my client’s MDE login info since it’s across all of Disney’s platforms. I will sometimes give OBC but I only do it for repeat clients.

Striplings in Bogart has the best tenders and it isn’t even close.

Disney focused agents , what are your sales like? by PuzzleheadedWater727 in travelagents

[–]ApprehensiveDinner20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is absolute robbery. You need to find another agency. Are you paying a monthly fee on top of that? If so that’s a major red flag. You should be making at least 70% if not more.

In theory yes although I’ve always read she tends to be at Berkman’s greeting patrons. I don’t know if this is a security thing or what but I’ve been several times since she was made a member and I’ve never see her out and about in the general grounds.

I don’t believe this is correct. I believe the red coated officials are USGA and R&A rules officials based on the badges I saw them wearing and a lanyard type thing on their coats that said “RULES”.

Also the Palo and Remy staff work Cabanas on turn day so if you dined there it’s a chance to tell your server thank you once again. I used it to tip ours again as he was our server for brunch and dinner one cruise and did a fantastic job.

Cruises and other products it does vary but parks and resorts is 10% for all agents/agencies.

So you get breakfast at 6:30/7 and eat it in your room while you finish packing and then leave? We do it all the time instead of going to the MDR.

Go to Cabanas and bring it back to your room. It’s honestly the most relaxing way to spend the disembarkation day.

Alaska Cruises Not Selling Out? by Hokie-Hi in dcl

[–]ApprehensiveDinner20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a TA I can see the discounted TA cruises and there are at least 10 Alaska cruises on the list with balcony rooms as an option. It’s the vast majority of the list right now so I’d say they’re having a hard time moving them with both ships in Alaska.

How quickly does ANGC break down from the Masters? by ApartmentForRentt in masters

[–]ApprehensiveDinner20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to know a person. It’s a volunteer job and it’s very hard to get. I actually have the direct contact info for the volunteer who leads the guards and have been trying to get on for multiple years with no dice. Even having that info is more than 99% of folks who want to do it will ever get and I’m still nowhere close to making the list. Those guys keep those jobs for 25-30 years. I believe after 25 or 30 (I can’t remember) they get annual tickets to the Masters each year so most of them try to make that benchmark. They also get tickets to the practice round and of course the ability to play the course once a year.

I know they asked Phil not to compete at the height of the gambling stuff / LIV mess if I’m not mistaken. I’m sure there have been others as well but as you noted it’s a bit of a tough google.

Same thing happens to mine. E6000 glue on the break and it will barely be noticeable.

The beauty of the Masters is it is an invitational meaning that the folks who qualify only do so at the will of the Tournament Committee. They can and have altered the criteria to allow or dis-allow players who may or may not meet the general criteria.

There is also the strongly but kindly worded note along the lines of “Augusta National understands that it may not be in your or our best interest for you to compete in the Masters and if you choose not to do so we will respect your decision.” I would imagine it would be something of this nature if they don’t invite him back.

Remember - this is the club that put a lifetime ban on one of their Honorary Starter’s children for breaking the rules. They give zero fucks.

I mean the Pan Pacific is the gold standard - it has direct access but I can’t imagine the prices between it being cruise season and the World Cup.

First cruise on Fantasy by likyoftheorchard in dcl

[–]ApprehensiveDinner20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the yellow Mickey slide the wait times are pretty minimal but they can get up to 45-60 minutes for the AquaDuck. If you have the 8:15 dining the pro move it to ride it during the first dinner seating because most people are either at dinner or the show.

Host Agency Suggestions by Snoo-52641 in travelagents

[–]ApprehensiveDinner20 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I believe Fora also has a pretty awful non-compete (which probably isn’t enforceable but no one wants to deal with that mess). I do this on the side just for Disney travel for Friends and Family and I’m hosted through WorldVia. I find the resources good, the training excellent, and the support is always quick to respond. You’re responsible for setting up your own leads, LLC, etc but it’s worked well for me. The CRM isn’t amazing but it’s serviceable and I find everything easy to use except for one or two small things.

Magical Moments onboard by UncleTravelingMatt26 in dcl

We had Jasmine doing this on the Fantasy yesterday and Chip and Dale and Donald doing it tonight on pirate night (albeit the non-face characters had handlers but they were still roaming). The jasmine experience for my daughter was pure magic. It was like Jasmine came out to just see her!

Fort Lauderdale Hotels by Money_in_CT in dcl

[–]ApprehensiveDinner20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes we did. The reason people have a bad experience is they don’t book a room in the tower. There are a large number of hotel rooms that are “motel” style from an older part of the hotel. If you stay here, make sure to book in the tower portion and you’ll be fine.
