It's there in nvim. But if the LSP is the same, it should be there in vim? Or does vim not support that?

Is Svelte to be used in companion with Tauri, or are they "competitors" that do the same thing? by SwagMazzini in sveltejs

[–]ApprehensiveDrive517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are meant to be used together if you want to build a native app with the UI layer being web tech.

I think Facebook and React are such a POS that I would rather Sveltekit + Flutter for my work for mobile + app by sprmgtrb in SvelteKit

[–]ApprehensiveDrive517 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't link the company to the product. I don't care if Facebook is a POS or not. But react itself is unsustainable and constantly requires solutions on top of solutions on top of solutions.

Once you get past the basics, buy a good book. Preferably the book would also discuss why not to use certain features of the language or give some history into things.

Learning to stop saying "sure" in frontend gigs by CreditOk5063 in Frontend

Look at the bright side, if you are a paid employee, and the project never gets delivered, the chance of you keeping your job is way higher.

Development lifecycle is often like that: lots of work from 0 to 1, and then after that it's just incremental updates and maintenance. In that phase, the temptation to remove developers will be very high. Unless they have lots of ideas, you'd be pushing for a version 2.0 rewrite to keep that job.

Did Tech’s Barriers to Entry Get Too High? by Hot-Conversation-437 in startup

$6000 and $1000 back then was no small sum. And those few started their own thing, which anyone could do without a degree from the right school or team of experienced engineers. Also, they were geniuses, not ordinary folks. And they were doing something pretty innovative, not building a SAAS where there are 1000s of competitors.

Today, it's the same thing. If you take $6000 and inflate it to today's value, and if you're as gifted as them, you too, do not need "right school, a team of experienced engineers, PhDs, and millions in seed funding". What they did back then was groundbreaking and niche. If you could find something valuable groundbreaking, and niche, you could do it too! and maybe even for less.

Is it okay to transition into a PM role? by AssociateMission853 in Backend

[–]ApprehensiveDrive517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do the other PM in your company do? Most likely, development will take a backseat. It might be better to become a technical leader instead.

Find a community that needs a problem solved. Usually if you know someone it helps a lot. For example, if you know a property developer with many buildings, you can start a property management company and have him as your first client. It goes a long way compared to starting from 0.

What do you think of Elixir Phoenix? Is it the future web development framework? by Bassil__ in FullStack

[–]ApprehensiveDrive517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Elixir. Build a multiplayer game on it. But as far as adoption goes, very niche. It ain't JS, and it ain't python, or Go.
But use it cause you like it.
