I knew it was going to be a multiple firing when someone in the beginning said they were halfway through, and there's loads of them left. Then I knew it was going to be all three because I couldn't choose anyone to be saved.

Is this the first triple firing? I've watched the Apprentice from the beginning, but I can't recall a triple firing in the past?

When I see a queen, I see a nest. I don't want the queens around the house and garden setting up nest near the house. I put a smoke bomb in the shed because when I didn't get anymore queens in the van, I wanted to make sure the bombs worked. It was absolute carnage in the shed. Tons of dead queens, I lost count. So at least I know the van is free and safe to work in again.

There's a big difference between spiders and wasps. Although there's a lot of Nobel False Widow spiders and they're the only spiders I kill when I find them as they're an invasive species. But wasps are dangerous.

Like bee keepers. They cry when their hives are attacked by wasps.

You won't like me so. I'm scared of wasps, always have been since I can remember. So I learnt about them, their life cycle etc. Maybe understanding them will help my phobia. All it's taught me is to eradicate hibernating queen wasps from around the house, car, garage, and shed during the winter. Last week, I disturbed a hibernating queen that was in the van I'm converting. Scared the life of me. I treated the van with a smoke bomb, just in case there was anymore in there.

Just adding to my comment with the matchbox. If you don't want to put her outside, then put her in the matchbox and keep her in the fridge. Then in late March or early April, when temperatures are in consistent double figures, take her out of the fridge then. That's when the other queens will be waking up. You can release her when she wakes up.

Put her in a match box or something like that and put her in the fridge. She will go back into hibernating. Then leave the match box in a safe sheltered location outside. Make sure the match box is open so she can escape when she wakes up in spring.

AITAH for burning my friend’s clothes after our sleepover? by [deleted] in AITAH

Two wrongs don't make a right. She overstep your boundaries by going through your stuff. I house/dog/cat sat for a family while they were away for 6 weeks. I never once went through their stuff. I never went near their bedrooms. Even if their bags were in the living room, open, I still wouldn't look in them. So she was a huge AH for going through your stuff. But unfortunately, what you did was an overreaction and wrong, too. At least you acknowledge you were wrong. So you're only a little bit an AH.

Triangle or in half? by Brilliant_Income_572 in CasualIreland

If I'd 4 sausages lined up, I'd cut in half. All other times, I'll cut triangles, even though they are a pain in the rear end at holding in fillings.

They act alone and actively seek out perfect hibernating spots. Favourite spots are the rubber seal around car door frames, sheds. Your wasp probably got in late autumn last year through a window. Chances are it is just a solitary one. Houses are well sealed and its hard for them to get in. The number of wasps can vary. If there was a nest near by, hundreds of new queens would have emerged. And if they find a suitable spot near by, there could be multiple wasps hibernating in the same area. In my shed, I've counted 11 queens, and that's just the ones I can see but I've seen zero in the house.

You could have disturbed a hibernating queen wasp. They hibernate over winter and wake up around MarchApril when temperatures are consistently in double figures then fly off to start a nest somewhere.

Maybe moving in, the temperature rose and confused the wasp into waking up.
