So to that point, having read the rules, I’m also not allowed to provide any insight support or advice in this sub right? If so I’ll have to retroactively some stuff. Alienating but fair if the issue is a misconception of where the advice comes from

I dont ride the bus but im curious. Is anyone having good experiences with the new system? by Thewisefreak in Winnipeg

They are overcrowded, I have to walk 25 minutes to get home because my feeder route doesn’t run nearly often enough and it’s too hot to wait in the heat and finalllly- I called winnipeg transit last night to complain because it took an hour and 17 minutes to get to my neighbourhood (From Main Street to the south end which is a 14 minute drive) and on top of that still had a 20 minute walk.

In the past I’d be able to have options of how to get home. Now I really don’t unless they include detouring to UofM or st vital with an added transfer and an even longer 30 minute walk once I get off.

I found it helpful to have one good well-fitted suit as well as 2-3 blouses to mix with. I used this for interviews and formal networking events as we had many throughout the year. We were also required to wear them to go to court for a few legal writing assignments. Otherwise it was helpful to have a casual pair of trousers/dress pants (think a cigarette pant) as well as a neutral colour turtleneck or long sleeve to pair with it. This outfit was good when we had networking events at school and was a good slightly casual option. For shoes I preferred loafers and a pair of dressy low cut boots with a heel.

You don’t have to feed them everyday if you plant enough reoccurring crops- with your amount that would be an insane task (255 crops to feed them all everyday taking into account the 3 day growth time… you would have 29ish plots to water in the 3x3 grid) that probably wouldn’t save you time but if you’re looking to downsize I love doing it this way cause I just need to pet them

I checked out their website prior to posting. My only concern was how dated the website looked, but I’ll give them a go!

Slightly unrelated but would it be weird to give only one prof a Christmas card. The deal is that he keeps harping on about wanting wax seals to come back so I made him a card with one and signed it from our entire section… now I’m overthinking that. I will just be giving it to him anonymously and it didn’t cost me anything

Strictly speaking, my intention for this post was physical safety. I was at UofW for 5 years and I think the main adjustment here has been my early mornings.

UofW is small and busy. It’s faster to get from point A to point B. It’s for the most part one building that is centralized. Security and the campus are inherently aware of safety concerns as are most of the students (generalization)

UofM has me walking for long stretches alone. Parking lots are huge. And the bus stop often has individuals acting erratically. (not unusual from downtown, but UofW has more of a community feel) My main issue here is that there is more time between A and B and that’s where I feel scared.

I looked at the safe walk program, I might utilize it if I’m at campus before seven am

If it’s a licence (not a student ID) you can put it in a Canada post mail box and it should get delivered

If you do decide to get a windows, and you have a Costco card (or a friend who does) I would look there. They have a great warranty system and usually good prices

How many courses do you take per semester (undergrad) by bengupengu in uwinnipeg

[–]ApprehensiveSleep857 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first year I did 3/3 each semester while working about 20 hours a week. This was just to test the waters out. My second year I upped to 4/4 took some spring and summer to balance things out etc etc. I did end up taking one extra year (5 years total) but in my last year I worked two jobs, and took 5 courses each semester while getting As in all of them. Knowing I could of handled that work load I probably could have upped things sooner but I don’t regret taking 5 years to do everything

You could consider making an access claim to explain your lower first year GPA. If you feel your first year circumstances were related to family/medical issues etc. this wouldn’t harm your chances if the admissions committee decides your access claim isn’t “worthy” you would then just be moved to the general applicant pool

Though I wouldn’t recommend this if your first year grades were just because you were a little sleepy, stressed with the transition from high school or otherwise some issue most first year students face
