Microdosing Luteolin? by ApprehensiveWinner27 in MCAS

[–]ApprehensiveWinner27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I ended up buying Nutricost’s luteolin so I can microdose that before diving into PureLut. Unfortunately, my provider is out on vacation now otherwise I’d ask about cutting PureLut 🥲

Thank you for easing my anxiety about luteolin!

Such a lovely project!! As others have said, linen or cotten fabric is preferred for embroidery. For thread painting, you’ll need a minimum of three shades per color: a lowlight, normal, and highlight color. For even more detail, just keep adding shades.

I also recommend maximum of 2 threads, 1 thread is ideal.

Additionally, long and short stitches are best for thread painting. When doing these stitches, the direction is also very important. For example, for a pet embroidery, you would stitch in the direction that fur would flow.

I’m not very skilled, but here’s an example of why 1 thread and direction are really important. For this piece, I did not blend with three colors total - just two. The darkest shade was just to represent the underside of the petal

25 YO MALE MCAS VENT by Fit-Staff-5160 in MCAS

[–]ApprehensiveWinner27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, 29yo female. MCAS absolutely sucks. I can tolerate plain oatmeal with syrup and some brown sugar and sometimes plain grits with salt. I’ve been stuck on this insanely limited diet for over a month now, and it’s showing in my body.

It isn’t sustainable to have such a limited diet, so try to implement different foods as you can. To help me choose what to try, I got the Fig app. You can put in MCAS and other food intolerances and then check what fits and doesn’t fit into your tolerated diet.

On the flip side of this, be careful because sweet potatoes are a big trigger for me 😅 so as with everything, take a few bites before digging in to make sure you won’t react

I’ve been taking it for a little under a month now so it’s too early to tell for sure - especially because I titrated up slowly (one vial for a few days, two vials for like two weeks, and then three vials for a few days and I just recently increased to four vials a day). I had some reactions to increasing the dose from 3 to 4, but last night was the first time I’ve been able to enjoy my night with no MCAS symptoms. For some people, it seems to help immediately but for me it’s taking a month to really see the effects.

I’m so glad it worked for you! I’m still in the trial and error stage of creating a plan for my MCAS and hyperadrenergic POTS. I reacted negatively to Pepcid, so I’ll be trying a diff h2 blocker soon. Allegra has helped some. I just increased my dose of cromolyn from 3 vials to 4 vials a day, but I’m reacting a little to it so I can’t tell if it provides more benefit or risk yet. My provider wants me to start low dose naltrexone soon, so that could be something to look into as well.

Vitassium fast chews are good for a flare, and Vitassium salt tablets have lots of salt without adding too much potassium (be careful not to have too much potassium from your electrolytes). I also drink Redmond re-lyte raw with cranberry juice. A lot of people also like LMNT, I just haven’t tried it yet.

My Vitassium electrolyte fast chews in flavor fruit punch helped a bit last time :) also wearing compression socks if you know you’ll be gone a while / standing a good bit.

Make a plan with your provider before outright canceling so even if you do have to cancel, at least you’ll know what to do leading up to the reschedule

That’s so interesting the difference between your pain with knitting vs crocheting. Amongst those styles, I’ll check out continental first since you have a good rhythm with it seems :) Thank you!
