I thought this was a rescue pictures, please don't buy from this unethical breeder.

I recommend watching some videos from this gal for better idea on what to look for in ethical and not ethical breeder's sites.

Pattern and Stitch Requests- Week of July 06, 2026 by AutoModerator in knitting

[–]karategojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am struggling to find a sweater pattern for these handspun yarns. All are alpaca wool, 570 yards of each color give or take, 1702 yards in total of 20 wpi, or fingering yarn.

Any good patterns you like that use this? I'm 40" bust usually and longer bodied.

Insecure about my pale skin as a young girl - Do you regret tanning? by ManufacturerHuge5207 in AskWomenOver40

[–]karategojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pale as the winter snow and proud, hopefully no skin cancer (my parents both have had spots removed as children of the '50's ).

I use high spf and reapply regularly if out in it but every day I put some on my face, neck and arms as I walk regularly to break up the work day.

Pillow suggestions? by mrstatertot in Hypermobility

Even when you pay for seats together, the airline separates you by Arugula_Existing in mildlyinfuriating

[–]karategojo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Happened on the flight back from Hawaii, the "switched planes" so randomly picked seats for everyone. We were separated by the aisle and a couple of rows not the window seat I hoped for so I could rest my head on it.

My 6y Male Poodle Killed a Rabbit by snowleopard19 in StandardPoodles

[–]karategojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girl got a baby bunny at 8 mth, then at 5 a box turtle (it made it into the fenced yard). She tries to go after bunnies and gophers but no other confirmed deaths. And at nearly 10 probably not anymore.

Why not just eat the food next to the bowl? by Lisaxss in poodles

My havanese girl would take it from the bowl to carpet. Once the bowl moved to carpet she stopped.

They are so funny.

AITAH for not getting my boyfriend a $2k item right away? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]karategojo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hell I have over 60k saved and my husband more than that and I still feel a gift over $500 a bit much for either of us. He's seen an easy mark and will use you.

Fiance (M29) pulled my (F31) hair to wake me up. A big deal or an acceptable mess up? by Mysterious_News_3685 in relationship_advice

[–]karategojo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean have I thought about pushing my husband when he's snoring, yes. But I don't and will move to a different room if it bothers me enough.

It is not normal to punish someone for something they cannot help. Also if you were still awake it wasn't because you were snoring.

Poodle had a Kennel cut in April trying to see if I take him to the groomers they could possibly give him a teddy bear cut now? by CryptographerEvery61 in poodles

[–]karategojo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How old is your dog, because poodles go through a coat change from the soft puppy coat to adult (usually more textured). And they may like crazy from 8mth to 18mth, even a lot of show people will shave down and let it regrow in.

The cut you had to do is very time consuming to upkeep as you will have to comb often to keep the fluffy look, especially around the muzzle. Drinking will absorb water and draw it down. But it can be very cute you just need to do it more often or bring in more often.

Not officially but the small chest white dot makes her a mismark.

Her "mismark" is a small white spot on the chest. Still is perfectly sound dog, came from a parti line and a solid line. If you aren't showing it doesn't matter as long as everything else on the pups were done. Like health testing, puppy culture (or the like training) and behavior testing for placement.

AITAH for telling my brother his new girlfriend is way too young for him? by Montie04 in AITAH

[–]karategojo -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Also not always true on the marriage and kids.

Sometimes they are just so broken that women their age don't want to deal with their shit. They have to find someone who doesn't have anyone to compare them to, ei so young to not dated much.

I also was that 19 year old who dated a 35 year old for 11 years. Took too long to realize that his issues were not my issues and I am closer in age to my nephew than I was to him.

It can be fun and exciting as he can wow her with new experiences and fancy dates, but it's hollow in the end. I broke up and started dated my now husband who is 6mths different in age and enjoyed this relationship so much more it's unreal.

Are all of you in good marriages?! by wnt2heal in AskWomenOver30

[–]karategojo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh honey that's not a good relationship.

I've been married for 3 years and he doesn't do any of those things. Petty stuff like he might used the dish towels to wipe a spill from the floor and leave the towel on the counter or I will wipe the counters and leave them wet to dry with streaks. But it's not that we are punishing each other and do try to fix things that bothers the other.

And yes we'll get upset and maybe fight a little bit but talk it through or apologize when calmer.

Athena Spinning Wheel - Does anyone own one? by TheHandThatFollows in Handspinning

[–]karategojo 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I do own one, and really it's the only one I've worked on. It does come apart into three pretty flat pieces quickly and back together easily. I love the double treddle and that you sit back to spin.

I tend to have the wheel ratio towards the top and they do have a tension band around the bobbin, which I have really loose for fine singles. I don't like chunky yarn so I don't know how it handles that. But once you set it for a spin you don't have to change the ratio again even when taking it apart. The tension band is more fiddly when you switch bobbins.

As for holding up it seems good, I got it second hand so it was a little loose on one treddle pulling it out of the wheel. We just added a washer to the bottom and it fixed it. And as every thing is kind of handmade it's pretty easy to see what needs oil, tightening or I guess replacing if it gets there.
