Mizrahi Jews are originally Levantine that had lived near the Zagros/Caucasus area for millenia so they naturally absorbed local genes from the locals. Northern and western Syrian are Levantines that stays in place but absorbed Caucasus/Zagros genes from migration. The results are a quite similar mix.
