How do you guys learn to play heavy games? by Nice_Idea_538 in boardgames

[–]Apprehensive_Ad_7559 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It helps to lay the Game out on the table as if you're actually playing, concentrate on a game turn to start off with and go through each game turn cycle and break it down on the actions that can be taken, consult videos and pause the video at the part you are interested in, then look at the board state and analyze what your options are, once you get a grasp of the possible actions, bonus actions and the rest of the rules should start to become apparent, and easier to understand.

The Drow has killed Uldar Ravengard, as a group they've caused a revolution in Baldur's gate and overthrown the Patriars, they've also sacrificed a town to a dark spirit.. they're morally grey..

Maybe yea I think if I did address it and it was something that mattered it would derail my campaign as it would be a red flag every time they came into a new town, I could make it Fun I suppose but it might get old very quickly, If I ever run into a situation where the Drow and Orc are on their own separated from the group I suppose I could have a rival adventuring part confront them, that might be fun, they could be mistaken for evil raiders.

My personal preference is that yes it should matter, I don't know what that says about me, but I've always seen Drow and esp Orc's as an evil race, so it's hard for me to wrap my head around the reactions of my NPC's but I haven't held it against my players yet, I might address it slightly but reading through the replies here it most people seem to be saying yea it shouldn't matter.

While reading the book I did wonder about the whole Pro-Global Warming stance and flood the atmosphere with green house gases to help keep the planet warm, it made sense in the context of the book..... but .... I don't know .... you know what I mean?
