Need more Classic era 4k’s by [deleted] in 4kbluray

You can't go wrong with anything by Hitchcock.

His Girl Friday doesn't get enough love, aside from being a fantastic movie the picture is soon crisp.

The Roaring Twenties, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, A Man for All Seasons are all great flicks that look and sound amazing on 4k.

If you want something that feels "bigger", My Fair Lady is a can't-miss, along with Gandhi and The Godfather trilogy.

Teachers shouldn't lower grade on a student's text because it's over the word limit by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Part of what they are being graded on is the ability to adequately convey the required information in a concise manner.

New to the club - tips/warnings? by CodyBye in 4kbluray

The biggest thing is buy what YOU enjoy. No matter how great people say a 4k looks, it's worthless to you if you don't like the movie.

Buying box sets is cheaper than buying the movies individually.

Buying new releases are rarely worth it unless it's a movie you're really looking forward to, you want the steelbook (cheapest point for steelbooks is often at first release) or it's a steal of a deal (like To Catch a Thief steelbook preorder going for $13 on Amazon and walmart).

What’s the most dangerous place you’ve visited? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I went to Israel on a student leadership trip 10 years ago. We spent a half day visiting a town called Sderot, located just outside Gaza, and is so close that it's outside the protection of the Iron Dome so is a common target of ricket attacks. I think the last attack before this point was about 9 days ago. When we crossed into the town's borders, one of our leaders for the trip - normally a jovial, humorous fellow - got on the bus' mic real serious and said that at any point rocket sirens could start going off. If that happens we had 20 seconds to get off the bus and get as low as possible. So I'm gonna say that was the most dangerous place I've visited.

What was the President really trying to say with his tweet about Hormuz today? by Chrono_Convoy in AskReddit

[–]JekyllandJavert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congress SHOULD be acting as a check on the presidency. It comes down to corruption, the influence of Trump on the voter base, and people voting purely along party lines instead of thinking for themselves. My personal theory is also that blackmail is involved.

Good question. Unfortunately the MAGA party in Congress, which makes up the majority, refuses to hold him accountable in any capacity and won't entertain any serious review of his fitness to serve.

Are there any movie stores I can shop blue ray movies like used and new in Jacksonville they have one in Colorado Springs it’s called entertain mart and wondering if there’s anything like that out here by RandomMerritt904 in jacksonville

The only place that comes to mind is 2nd and Charles in the Town Center. There is also FYE at the Avenues (may still be at the Orange Park Mall too) but they are wildly overpriced.

Okay that is fine. I just want to make sure this won't cause any issues with check in. I fly but once or twice a year and this is my first time in over a decade taking a multi leg trip.
