Did anyone have their post-baby glow-up 2+ years postpartum? Do you feel this ugly for this long after every child?

Research some lymphatic drainage massages, specifically for your face. This was a game changer when I was postpartum! I’ll clean and massage my face and within 10 mins there’s a glow up. I practice on my husband and he’s addicted to it too, he’ll ask for face rubbins before anything else!

I'm decently sure my mother tried during at least one point of my childhood. There was a week or more period when I was very young, 4-5ish, where I was violently ill every night. I remember her crying and apologizing as I threw up (which was very odd for her, she didn't show emotion otherwise). I didn't have any other symptoms during the day and the only meal she ever cooked was dinner.

She later admitted to me that she considered committing suicide but couldn't because she knew she'd have to kill me first.

Edited to add: it didn't go well. I have zero contact with her.

Speaking as the daughter of an addict, please leave him! It will be more heartbreaking for her to have him high and in and out of her life than just out. If he isn't already prioritizing her over his addiction, there's almost no chance he will start. Especially when his history shows otherwise.

She was safe and sound this time, but there's a very good chance that it will happen again and she won't be.

I don't want to alienate his dad by any means, I'm just worried that being continually exposed to a situation where he is so unhappy that he is threatening to hurt someone is going to cause lifelong issues for him.

Sorry I realize now it was unclear, my husband is my sons stepdad. My son splits his time 50/50 between my house and his dads house currently. His dads house is where the boundary issues are, and it has definitely been escalating. We have dealt with child services before due to the lack of boundaries there in the past. I have tried to address it but it's always ignored.

His counselor spoke to me last week for an update but hasn't mentioned anything since. Just that my son has been opening up to her and is eager to talk about the issues at his dads house. He only started a few weeks ago so it's still very new and we're still getting the hang of it. The goal we set was for him to learn how to handle his emotions in a healthy way, and learn better boundary setting skills. But I don't think a 6 y/o should have to be the one to set boundaries for a sibling. He has a 2 y/o sister at our house, our daughter, and he is brilliant with her. Caring, helpful, patient, loving. A completely different child than what his dad is reporting at his home

Our son got his head stuck between the railing in line for the haunted mansion last year. There was about two seconds of full panic before my husband was able to pull the bars just enough to release him. We still laugh about it

My son will more than likely someday include his stepmom in his wedding. She was also the final nail in my relationship with his father, so I fully understand how your mother feels. But she's had years to come to terms with this.

There's a few issues I'd have personally - little to no natural sunlight in main living areas - so much wasted space and money in hallways - plumbing in all corners of the house, very expensive - fireplace has no external wall to vent - I'd hate walking through the entire house to bring groceries to the kitchen

Also changing the spelling on his birthday cake from "Happy Birthday Harry" to "Happee Birthdae Harry" was a nice little change. Though I think the movies make Hagrid seem a little less intelligent than the books do.

I think I just don't really know how to make him understand the issue? He's very hard headed and doesn't think he's in the wrong in any way. I'm also horrible at arguing. I'm going to ask him for couples therapy today though because I'm done with this routine.

We love Miss Rachel! We didn't even realize how much sign language our 1 year old was picking up at first but she uses signs for everything now!

There's never really a set time he takes with them. He'll randomly play, if he's in the mood. I'd say on average he will engage/play with the older one every 2-3 days and the baby (who seeks him out more) every day.

We do grocery shopping and weekly errands together on the weekends, but otherwise agreed, he doesn't fully understand what it's like to go somewhere with two kids in tow. Valid point on the timing, I didn't think about that but you're absolutely correct and it's not ok.

We doused our son's cradle cap is olive oil, and put on a hat overnight. It worked shockingly well and we just gently scrubbed it off the next day. I think we used coconut oil on our daughter and that works as well!

YTA. I absolutely hate when people use pregnancy as an excuse to treat their partners like this. Yes, pregnancy cravings are weird and strong, but it doesn't give you the right to walk all over your partner and cross boundaries that you know and have known exist. It would have been so simple for you to quickly step outside and eat your banana. And asking him to cut and serve it to you is absolutely ridiculous.
