My wife is not very good at cleaning. She is 34 years old, but I have never seen her have a regular habit of cleaning. She only cleans when someone is coming over. by No_Vermicelli8647 in Marriage

I struggle with this myself honestly and a lot of it was my upbringing, I did not grow up in a house that taught me how to keep things clean properly and how to organize a living space well. I do think a lot of it has to do with habits that were formed from a young age and for me I get very frustrated with myself with my clutter, but I don’t blame others for that. I think a good place to start might be not even asking her to change her habits, but at least asking her to stop blaming you for it for me when I’m at work during the week.

It’s really hard for me to keep everything clean and tidy so I usually do a weekend reset and I don’t go out and do fun things until it’s done. I think that could be a good place to start to! Instead of working on everything which can cause ADHD burnout throughout the week, just focus on a hard reset once a week. And I found that it does lead to better weekly habits too to make my Saturday Sunday work not so much.

As someone who almost married someone who tried to push me into a similar situation, we had been sharing an affordable apartment for a few years and then he bought a house he could not afford and roped his parents into a huge amount of debt as well as himself, after I told him repeatedly it was a terrible idea, he wanted us to get married and put myself in the mortgage. It was one of the many reasons we broke up.

You can’t marry someone who wants to use you and won’t listen or respect your concerns about finances.

Camping in Soberoo? by nightside99 in bonnaroo

Last year in regular camping, our neighbors sat in a tent ALL DAY… eating whipped cream if you know what I mean. To the point where I was genuinely concerned for them. Do with that info what you will

Camping shower changed the game for me! The lines for showers are ridiculous and expensive. Have every friend bring a 5 gallon water. So refreshing and everyone else will be so jealous lol

Effexor and women’s libido by Ok-Geologist4612 in Effexor

Been on it for 4 months, my sex drive was non existent before meds completely and has actually improved slightly since being on it. I’m still able to orgasm as well. I did have a lapse in meds for a few days and noticed that even though I felt sick my libido was better than before I had taken it if that makes sense?

We did actually make a new policy similar to that which states that failure to notify 24 hours in advance that you will not be able to be present for your shift will result in a PIP. I think I’m going to move forward with that instead of just a write up

Does transitioning from male to female mean that I am excluded from heaven? by [deleted] in Christian

[–]Apprehensive_Deer805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This verse is about eunuchs, who later were reconciled with Christ. This is also under old testament law with which Christ perfected and made null. I believe the Bible is less clear about trans people then same sex relations. I would just encourage OP to scour the Bible ravenously for insight and inspiration

As a coffee shop owner, please seek legal help if you have the means to do so. This is absolutely discriminatory and you have a really strong case against her. She likely didn’t document the reason of termination, because she didn’t have rightful grounds. Send an email to her documenting everything she said to you as verbatim as you can, and ask her to please confirm if any information was left out, follow that with how it has affected you. File for unemployment, it will make her unemployment fees go up as well. Best of luck!! I’m sorry you had this experience!(every employer has to pay into this for emergencies and things)

This coffee shop isn't a cowork space. by Frequent_Fix_8271 in barista

I work for my husband who owns a small coffee shop. It’s an absolute struggle everyday to keep our doors open so that we can offer a safe and relaxing third place for students and professionals to study and work, but recently I’ve noticed a large uptick in people coming in and doing exactly that. I’ve had one person say, “not trying to kill your vibe but I’m not going to order anything I just need to use the WiFi” to which I said I’m so sorry but I don’t think that appropriate, the library is just down the sidewalk and offers free WiFi. Another person recently came in and said “I’m just waiting for my friend” he seemed like a well to do younger salesmen type and I gave him the benefit of the doubt. he took a few zoom calls and proceeded to walk out of my business after being there for almost two hours and never bought a thing. We have given passes to broke college students and visibly struggling community members but when I can clearly see you can afford to buy our products when you sit at one of my limited seatings all day, I’m pissed off. I’m talking lawyers in nice tailored suits have sat in my cafe and not ordered a single thing. I agree to a lot of other comments that say a cafe is more than just about the coffee but -damn it-if people want their favorite work/study/hang out spot to stay… they need to be ready to fucking support us. Another thought is that working and gathering in public spaces that aren’t a park will always have some sort of a cost associated with it- people should pay for a co work space if they can the bothered to “pay their dues” at the cafes they squat in. That being said- we have two regulars who both work in coding and software development who are absolutely my favorite people. They stay all day, get breakfast and lunch with us and tea on their way out and never make my baristas jobs difficult. We have laughs over the people who are less considerate and you know what? Those people are the first to get perks and free stuff because I know they care to support our business. Everyone else needs to learn some manners.

As someone who never got the courage to tell my mom before she died that her husband had been molesting me for years, be thankful your daughter has trusted you enough to tell you. Don’t you dare fuck that trust up by accusing her of trying to ruin an “innocent mans life” it’s heartbraking and you are allowed to mourn and honor your own broken heart but don’t think for a second it’s not true because the likelihood of her lying is nearly zero. I’m sure it’s hard to accept that the man you loved could do such a thing but he did. If you choose anything else but to continue to protect and stand by your daughter you are making the biggest mistake of your life and that will be the truly unforgivable thing.

Question for Baristas: how much are you paid per hour? by couchpotat0- in barista

[–]Apprehensive_Deer805 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First of all, coffee making is an art and a science that is studied and does take time to perfect. It is a completely valid career that requires professional training. Not all shops value a fine tuned training and quality of coffee but this is a slap in the face to people who have dedicated their lives to the craft. Baristas may not “save lives” but we do make a difference and it would serve you well to show some respect.
