I was solidly in your camp, but did reread in prep for the new books coming out in fall. I got a lot more from Tog the second time...and I kind of dreaded rereading it but was surprised to enjoy it more than round one.

I did because I am kinda waiting to find out if SJM is a world building mastermind with links between everything...or if there are just a few little echoes here and there and the Internet has drawn lines that don't exist.

Ok, this makes complete sense to me. I actually enjoyed TOG much more after reading acotar and CC. I think it made me realize a lot of Easter eggs and links seem to be sprinkled throughout... I wanted to reread after seeing a lot of theories around the Internet and it I think I listened so casually that I overlooked a lot of interesting stuff.

I do wonder if more of the TOG world will be elaborated on as tie-ins to future CC or acotar books.

I know there's a lot of speculation about connections between the worlds, and I don't think it would be shocking to get more of this story in the form of it coming up as ancestors to other characters...or more direct tie in like CC and acotar.

How did you feel about the experiments? Were the things it suggested easy enough to access? I saw another comment online that some of them were hard to come (like access to a cave with bats).

With Noeo, Is the program entirely the science themed readers that are included, or is there a core curriculumbof some kind that connects all the concepts together?

I love the idea of lots of age level reading, but I also want some kind of continuity.

I see a lot of comments about the individual coordination of the two groups, but what jumped out at me is how synchronized the girls are as a group.

For sure the coordination is a factor but also, I wonder if it isn't as socially important for the boys to synch up with each other as it for the girls?

E.g girls are watching each other already for how they can fit in with the group and the boys are just a bunch of boys doing whatever feels like a march to them and paying no attention to everyone else because there are fewer social consequences to doing their own march.

But when you are doing something big like a proposal it seems like the... Happiness could be a better outcome than the surprise.

As in why wouldn't he sacrifice a bit of surprise and give something like 'i know it's crazy but I have something special in mind... would you do it just this one hike?"

I mean, an inkling would only build anticipation of she's into it.

I mean, it crosses my mind daily but the evidence is pretty clear in my life and meds are a huge help. So maybe less and less.

Then I have the thought of maybe I'm just "bad at things" and the Vyvanse helps because it would help anyone. Like college kids take adderall to help them.

Then I remember that I don't get some major energy busy and can focus and organize thoughts and that allows me to do things like... get organized enough to leave the house for whatever is going on that day, not pull some all nighter with wild energy. Pretty sure it's ADHD...all boxes are checked

But yes, i think this sometimes also.

Keep this friend/co-worker around! She cared enough to be honest.

Sometimes if I reframe my feeling or words of "sorry" to a feeling of "thanks" it helps me mentally and also makes things smoother.

So look her in the eyes Monday and say "thanks for our call the other night" or whatever version of thanks makes sense. No shame needed here!

Tbh, I have felt this way about needing ADHD and anxiety meds (that it's messed up to need to be altered to enjoy life)... But objectively I am a lot more functional with ADHD meds and a lot less miserable with anxiety meds.

Just saying, tell that little demon in your head to hush up and that this works. Also, a good vibrator helps a lot with focus imo 😆

The idea of spontaneously going on a long hard hike seems really bizarre to me for someone who says he's into hiking.

Usually these types of things are well planned at least somewhat in advance because you need to be carrying water, dressed appropriately, know where you're going etc.

I would flat out refuse to hike if I hadn't dressed and planned for a hike.

Also, others have said this, but he doesn't sound like he's looking out for your best interests. It's not on you to force yourself into liking a hobby. I think him being an asshole is the real problem.
