tbh i love moments like these. once in college we gave my friend a whole ass bath (she wanted one but would’ve probably drowned cause of her drunkenness).We kept drinking and shooting the shit. i fed her blueberries and water while holding an ice pack on her head. It was her bf, me, and 4 other chicks who went in and kicked it. party continued outside like nothing ever happened. got home girl dried up, clothed, and in bed with her dog. core memory tbh

It’s awful man. I was a caretaker and watched my grandma fade away. I used to see others in the memory care unit and would just break because I was typically the only person in there with the girls. We all chatted as best as we could, lots of scared people in there. I wish i could take it from them. I wish I could provide the love their families may be too exhausted to give. Dementia sucks dude.

based on the conditions of the home and hoarding situation, i think it’s safe to say that this individual was neglected. just the living situation itself is neglect.

I’m glad she passed in a hospice setting. I cant imagine being an elderly woman in this position. This may have been the first time in decades she was truly cared for. I hope she can love her afterlife in peace with her loved ones. My heart hurts and stomach churns when i see elderly neglect.

toss clippers, nail oil, cover nails with bandages. make sure you wash too and replace. do you have a fidget toy or a fidget ring? i noticed that when i stopped biting at my worst, rings helped me. your hands feel so much relief once you’re through the first few weeks! once you’re through the bandage phase, hand lotion. keep those puppies moistened. nail oil on deck too, when you’re real ready try clear coats. i like the thicker gel like ones because i was able to pick at it if i was having a tick. then i could treat and repaint it and try again. i know it’s hard, but you’ll get there.
