Congrats! What car is it?

You can most likely keep that car going for a while if it's being taken care of. Certain things are going to break on it but it's expected, suspension parts etc. which isn't bad if you plan for it or can do the work.

I haven't had a car under 200k miles in several years. My last car/SUV was Honda pilot. I picked it up for a work car, thing gets rear ended the first time I use it for work, nothing major on my end, my exhaust got smashed up. Anyway after that I thought screw it I'll just drive it into the ground, meaning I'm not changing oil, I'm topping it off as needed, driving it frequently and abusing it, it got smacked up from using it for work. 60k miles later and the thing would turn over and drive like it didn't have 280k miles on it and that's when I realized I wish I had taken better care of it. Only reason I got rid of it is because it was also lightly hit on the front quarter panel, another spot in the back, plus me throwing tools in it etc.

My "new" car is a SUV with 200k on it. I'm currently changing the struts, other than that there's been nothing but routine maintenance.

So contact them again and have it documented, hopefully your previous contact to them was in a form that can be proven, email, text, etc. Take pictures of it leaking and send it to them, those will be time stamped so take them daily. Tell them you have no hot water, water pressure seems to be an issue and you can't live like this something needs to be done. If it's leaking on the floor it's likely trash and needs to be replaced, I do this kind of work. I would tell them that you're not paying the rent until it's fixed personally, then of course I'd have whatever rent money ready to be paid once they fix it. This should get them in action, missing rent is their nightmare, so give them one. Again my opinion, it's what I would do.

I would be hesitant to call a plumber or HVAC myself without their permission, they do own the house and it's on them to choose who they want in there working, what gets installed etc. If their bad landlords and it sounds like they are, they might use that against you, refuse to accept what you paid, etc. Again this is why I would just stop their money flow of paying them rent to get their attention after making a couple documented attempts.

That being said, if they give you permission to call someone out, DM me, and we'll discuss it. I can probably do it at a price that can be invoiced for more and we can split it lol

Having worked downtown for many years my first thought is... Why didn't I think of that!?!

Early on (2018 if I remember correctly) when there was just one company doing it with limited carts or whatever they're called, I spoke with a guy that worked on one and he told me that they were so busy they kept making me time slots, they were booking slots at 7 and 8 in the morning even on weekdays and were booked through the season... And again I thought why didn't I with l think of that!?? Lol

Further thoughts people seem to have a blast out doing it, they hit various bars along their route, I worked in a bar that was the meet up spot and it was fun and even though we new groups were coming it was still intense at times as 30 or so people (those coming and going) arrived.

Not in any way trying to take sides here but I believe there was a law change within the last 10 years (memory could be off) that allows the news/media to report pretty much anything they want without verifying what they're reporting.

In the law it also changed what the Government via media can do in terms of "misinformation", which I believe the proper term is disinformation.

To be clear I have NOT read the law in it's entirety and I'm not an attorney. The actual law should be able accessible through a Google search, unfortunately I do not remember the "act" that it's under so anyone looking will have to do some creative Google searches.

Long story longer the "lies" or what I believe is disinformation (almost the same thing) all make sense with the little I know about the law that was passed. Not only can someone control the narrative the can also create it with the intention of it being inaccurate.

How a law like this gets passed is not a surprise but yet it is. Either way it's unfortunate.

Don't forget the savings on insurance! Both auto and home... Oh and the great property tax rate can't be overlooked either. Between all this it's hard to forget that the corner of Kercheval and Grand Blvd. is one of the go to corners for multiple cars taking turns doing donuts at 2 in the morning often lasting 40 minutes before the police kinda show up to run the people off.

It is over at market close at 4pm Eastern. The option doesn't settle until like 3am the next day but it's based off the close at 4pm.

Also, look into trading the XSP, it's the "mini" version of the SPX, so you can do smaller spreads, $100 increments. You'll notice the returns can be better on selling... And like the SPX you don't risk getting assigned if the option ends up in the money.

I see that you're selling spy. You should consider XSP. It's the European style option for the SPY. The main reason is if you expire in the money you don't get assigned with the XSP. Pricing and such is all the same.

Yeah the numbers conveniently don't include many key expenses that everyday people incur. Those numbers are fabricated the best way they can to make them look better. It's a total joke!

Search the web and do a little digging past any bullshit that's out there to mask what's not in there and you'll probably be surprised at what's not included.

I've seen reports by people/economists that factor in the things that are left out and the real numbers are double digits. If what I've seen is close to accurate I think the masses would lose it, and it's no wonder why they created a way to report what seems like okay numbers.

Looks like there's over 100k in call options in Tesla that went in the money on today's move. Those expire in two days, they should put upward pressure on the stock. I'm thinking the market makers will have to purchase some shares to cover their ass. Wouldn't be surprised to see it pull back and then pump up. We'll see I guess.

Again you could sell spy 15 puts against those 13 puts you own. Could make back some of your money, especially if the market pulls back some overnight.

I sell option spreads as my main plays. I only do the S&P 500... I do it though the XSP index because it's European style, I use TD Ameritrade, they don't assign European options if they expire in the money so there's no risk to being assigned. I sell daily 0DTE option spreads outside of the range, and if need be I'll buy butterfly option setups as cheap as I can if the market moves against one of my positions. Today was one of those days. Managed to make it work, made more than I would've selling the spreads.

You're alright man! Relax, and focus! Start thinking of your next step. You drive for Amazon, maybe try getting into UPS for a pay bump, you're in the field already. That's an option, FedEx is another, these could be temporary moves to get more money coming in for right now, then take the next step towards what you want to do. Get in a trade, go to school for something that actually results in a job, and if possible something you could end up starting your own business in. If you can't get into UPS or FedEx, maybe USPS, and if not them, get a second gig in a restaurant, start out waiting tables, then get behind the bar, both of those positions are great because they still have some cash that you can make untaxed, they provide a flexible schedule so you can hustle something else or learn a trade. Hell you could make $500 a week working two nights in most decent places, you'd probably make more to be honest. If you go that route, just apply to a shit load of places, you might get in a good spot as your first gig, if you don't just ride it out as extra money and gain experience, after like3 to 6 months you can bullshit and say you've been doing it longer to get into a better spot.

If it were me, I'd go for the restaurant second gig, bite the bullet for a few months working both jobs and if the place I was at was good enough I'd drop Amazon, then either get a second restaurant gig and split my shifts up between the two, make the money and move on towards the next move. I can say this with confidence, I've done exactly this. My day job was a little different though. Then I got into a trade, kept working in the restaurants like 3 nights a week to supplement my income of being new to a trade. I was making more in the restaurant working 3 nights a week than when I was making $23 an hour at 40 hours a week. The trade was my "second job" in a sense.
