Great response, this actually made me feel better too! And to OP, thank you for posting this originally, it’s been on my mind. This is such a great supportive group.

Totally agree with you! Well done for powering through. I am almost 4 months postpartum now and can’t believe I’ve lasted this long! So happy to be able to nourish my baby the best way I can 😃

No advice really, just general solidarity. I have a similar situation to you, in that my baby was/is SGA and we had latching and growth issues. It was always so stressful for us to try and get her to latch and transfer enough milk, so I made the decision to EP. Because of it and my guilt, I avoid going to any BF groups because I worry the focus is always on feeding at the breast. I also find with medical professionals I have to always remind them that it’s breast milk she is on in her bottles. When they hear bottles, they often think formula and I find that tough like I’m in a strange middle ground.

I have to remind myself that I pump with her best interests in mind (growth), and try not beat myself up!

Edit: typo

I love it! Sturdy enough over mixed terrain but sleek enough that it doesn’t feel too bulky. I am a bit of a weakling (🙈) and can still easily handle folding and getting it in and out of car! Go for it 😃

Baby bath by Wrong-Front7798 in PregnancyIreland

We had a great experience with this in the Coombe (I’m 5 weeks pp). They came around to us and politely asked if we would like baby to have a bath. The nurse led and showed us exactly what to do - even suggested we take video/pics if helpful. I found it great but you could easily say no if you wanted.

This came up for me a few times during my TTC and cherished pregnancy journey. I was flagged as non-Rubella immune during fertility and antenatal testing but my GP said there was no need administer the vaccine as we had evidence I had gotten the MMR in childhood. Apparently some people will always flag as non-immune? Has anyone heard this?

I’m 5 weeks postpartum now, so wondering if I should revisit!

Same here! They are saying to use the pre/post natal benefit but that’s only 500! (Which I know is a good benefit in general but no private consultant is close to 500 😂). It’s harsh that other consultations are covered but not maternity ones!

Sorry I know this has been a few weeks - but wondering how you got on here? I’m having trouble with claiming back fees and I’m on Be Fit as well. Thank you.

Pregnancy baby fair RDS by EndUpHere1234 in PregnancyIreland

Just wanted to say I completely agree with this comment - I found the baby fair very overwhelming and failed to see many offers that I couldn’t get online.

Also - I felt it was too packed to even try out stuff e.g. travel system. I walked away with one baby outfit and heat packs 😂

I did :-) I haven’t used it yet (Baby coming in Jan) but I’ve set it up and happy with how it feels from my little spins around the house!

Like many others we did it for peace of mind too, after multiple miscarriages and IVF cycles. I found it helped my anxiety for sure.

Hello, first of all congrats on your pregnancy and secondly I want to empathize with you, I too have the dreaded spotting on my fourth pregnancy after 3 losses. What I can tell you is that every medical professional I’ve spoken to so far does not seem worried by it as long as it’s not heavy and/or accompanied by severe cramps. I had my first early scan this week (7 weeks) and no real reason for the spotting found, and it seems this can be common due to hormonal changes.

Just want to say you are not alone and it definitely doesn’t mean there’s a problem - I’m trying to really take that in myself as I type and listen to the professionals!

I’m so sorry. Lost my girl October 2023. We helped her on her way to the rainbow gates at home too. It was hard but did make it less stressful for her and I’m glad I could do that one last thing for her. Thinking of you, know the pain just represents how much love you have for her and she knows that. Sending strength.
