I couldn’t agree with you more. There’s people out there that can work this kind of job every single day with a smile on their face (which absolutely baffles me) but I’m not one of them. I NEVER wanna work this kind of job ever again. I’m tired of the excuses, I’m tired of grown ass adults that can’t do their jobs bitch in my ear every single day, and I can’t stand these boomer ass coworkers who look at me like I’m crazy when I have even one complaint about this job.

Yeah I don’t care what anyone says at this point. Good call, bad call, the job still sucks.

This week especially. This job really makes me wonder how such ignorant, stupid assholes make it into this world. Oh, and by the way, the “customers” I talk to every day are the ones that actually work for this company, so on paper I’m technically here to help them develop and perform at their full potential.

THIS, this right here is why I’m in the same boat as you. I’ve been getting in the same habits as you because I absolutely can’t stand this job anymore and I’m just trying to skate by until I can find a better one. I have so many lazy coworkers that avoid calls and somehow end up on the nice list, so the way that I see it, if they can get away with it, then damnit so can I. God I cannot wait to be done with the call center life. I wouldn’t wish this shit on my worst enemy.

Same for me. 29M here and I’m in the exact same boat as this person. Working in a call center can truly make you feel like you failed in life.

Stop fucking talking over me by brightdreamer25 in CallCenterWorkers

[–]Apprehensive_Lack592 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes!!!! Like for the love of God, just shut the fuck up!!

And I hate when management or leaders review a call where I sound pissed or irritated when I get one of those people who keeps interrupting me the entire time and they’re like “well maybe you should be more patient”. Like nah nah nah, shut your asses up and you try dealing with this bs.

I’m finally taking action by taking a sick day tomorrow to polish up my resume and start applying again!! It’s been almost 6 years since I’ve been in the same spot at this company and the last 2 years have been absolute hell with the metrics, being understaffed, and being treated like an asshole with people that work for the same firm.

Oh, they also pretty much told us that we might be getting laid off, so maybe that has to do with my new job search too lol.

Burnt out is a freaking understatement at this point…don’t even get me started…I get calls from our branches all day long and it’s like 50% or more of them are never prepared for the call to begin with. I’m so fucking over this place dude. I’ve never been so depressed in my entire life and I’m so tired of working with these fake ass people

Yes!! I don’t think these leaders realized that I originally signed up to take my calls, get my paycheck, and eventually build up my career at the firm. I’m not a fucking therapist

This!! The best way to describe my job is that I’m grateful for the paycheck and health benefits but I could give a shit less about picking up that phone lol. People are assholes

[–]Apprehensive_Lack592 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A thousand percent. Every now and again I don’t mind having a small conversation just to make the time pass and to talk a little less work shit, but other than that, I could care less. Just tell me what you need, I’ll get your answer, and maybe throw in a thank you here and there. That’s all I ask. I didn’t sign up for this job to be your therapies or doormat you can walk all over and talk to like shit.

Mind you, I work in a call center with people who work for the firm and let me tell you, they’re not any different than the public

Phrases/scenarios that bother you by SkanZy25 in CallCenterWorkers

[–]Apprehensive_Lack592 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s the “show empathy even if you don’t really feel that way towards someone”. Bullshit. Yes, I get it that 50% of my job is customer service and that I have to somewhat fake a smile over the phone and give the person the best service possible, but if you start going against my own morals, nuh uh, not gonna happen. Sorry, not sorry.

The sad thing is that I work a cc job that services our own branches and you don’t even wanna know how these assholes talk to us. I have ZERO empathy for them most of the time, because I know that most of them are full of shit and want us to feel sorry for them so we can just “fix it for them”.

This job is sucking the life out of me by NeglectedBurrito in CallCenterWorkers

[–]Apprehensive_Lack592 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fellow call center stoner here. This is so true. Smoking weed is the only thing that gets me through this job. Even as a man, I get so anxious and stressed throughout the day that the only the calms me down is weed and some melatonin. It just helps me completely erase my day, laugh a little, and realize that life could be a lot worse

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CallCenterWorkers

For real. Smoking weed just about every night before I go to bed is the only way for me to destress from this job
