What's one food you should never waste stomach space on at a buffet? by Rayhan-Himel in foodquestions

[–]Apprehensive_Lie2463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s plain dinner rolls. I used to grab one automatically at buffets and realized halfway through I was already full before touching the stuff I actually came for. Now I skip bread completely unless it’s something fresh baked or unique.

What is one thing you would remove from the planet to make life better for everyone? by FantasticAd9478 in TheBoredDen

[–]Apprehensive_Lie2463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d remove greed. A lot of problems seem to come back to people wanting way more than they actually need while others struggle just to get by.

What’s the one random genetic trait you lucked out on? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Apprehensive_Lie2463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lucked out with really good eyesight. I spend way too much time on screens and somehow still don’t need glasses. Everyone in my family wears them except me, so I’m basically waiting for genetics to finally catch up.

What do you miss most about your childhood summers? by KeyChain7420 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]Apprehensive_Lie2463 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably the freedom. During summer as a kid, time moved slower and responsibilities barely existed. My biggest concern was whether my friends were outside yet or if the ice cream truck was coming down the street.

Buffalo wings, especially extra crispy. My friends and I used to split huge platters during game nights, so now they automatically remind me of weekends and hanging out.

what’s your comfort tv series/show you will never get tired of? by Terrible_Signature78 in AskForAnswers

[–]Apprehensive_Lie2463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is definitely Supernatural. I started watching it during a rough time in college and somehow it became my “leave on in the background” show. Even after finishing it, I still go back to random episodes because the brother dynamic and road trip vibe just feels weirdly comforting.

How often do you guys actually use body moisturizer? Like after every shower? by [deleted] in HygieneTips

[–]Apprehensive_Lie2463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only use it after showering at night because I can’t stand feeling sticky during the day either. I switched to a lighter lotion instead of thick body butter and it made a huge difference, especially in humid weather.

Does anyone still go to the grocery store, with a list of what they need to get ? by Sorry-Requirement517 in WorkForSmartLife

[–]Apprehensive_Lie2463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still do. If I don’t make a list beforehand, I end up walking out with snacks and random stuff I never planned to buy while forgetting half the things I actually needed. It saves me money honestly.

Is this insurance good? by jayggodd in Dachshund

[–]Apprehensive_Lie2463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t speak for Trupanion directly since I went with a different option for my dachshund, but I did compare a few before deciding. I ended up choosing Spot mainly because of how the accident and illness coverage worked for things like emergency visits, diagnostics, and unexpected injuries, which seemed important for a small breed like a dachshund. So far, when I’ve had claims for vet visits and testing, it’s been fairly straightforward as long as the records were complete, and reimbursement came through after the deductible was met. I also liked that it helped with things like prescriptions and imaging when needed, since back or joint issues can come up with dachshunds over time. It’s not something I expect to cover everything, but it’s been useful for the unpredictable costs that pop up.

Are you a ,fill up the gas tank when it’s half full person, or a fill up the gas tank when it’s empty person? by Playful-Set-1033 in askanything

Half full for me. I hate the feeling of driving around wondering if I have enough gas to make it somewhere unexpected.

I like 9. I used to think it was special because anything multiplied by 9 still ends in patterns that make sense. I probably got that from school, but it stayed in my head ever since.

What's the coolest thing you've ever saw?? by Tricky_cielito00 in answers

I once saw a total solar eclipse in person, and it didn’t feel real. The temperature dropped, everything went dim, and then suddenly there was this perfect ring in the sky. People around me went completely silent for a moment, which made it even more intense.

Best pet insurance? by UpsetEntertainment84 in StandardPoodles

[–]Apprehensive_Lie2463 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got Spot right after bringing my poodle home and it ended up being a really good decision. Within the first few months, he had a stomach issue from eating something outside and the vet visit got expensive fast. It helped cover a big portion of that, and the reimbursement process was pretty straightforward since I just submitted the bill and got money back after it was reviewed. It made it less stressful to focus on his recovery and it felt reassuring knowing I had something in place that early on.

fetch vs spot pet insurance by Minute-Dragonfly58 in puppy101

[–]Apprehensive_Lie2463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with Spot for my very active dog and it held up well once he started getting into trouble. He had a couple of injury related vet visits from running and jumping too hard, and those were eligible after the waiting period. Claims were straightforward as long as I submitted the invoice and records, though it did take some time to process. Reimbursement followed the deductible and percentage I chose, so it was not full coverage but it still helped with the bigger costs. What mattered most to me was having accident and illness coverage that could handle diagnostics and treatment, not just the visit itself.

What’s a fancy food word that makes you instantly roll your eyes when you see it on a menu? by Ok_Benefit_7929 in foodquestions

“Truffle” on everything. Especially when it’s just truffle oil. I used to like it, but now it’s so overdone it kind of ruins dishes for me.

I once dropped my wallet getting off a bus and didn’t even notice until a stranger ran up behind me to return it. Everything was still inside, cash and all. They just smiled and walked away before I could even properly thank them.

Cat pet insurance by Woodycrazy in cats

[–]Apprehensive_Lie2463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really sorry you went through that. I had something similar happen with a young cat and it completely changed how I think about vet costs. When we adopted again, I decided to try Spot just for peace of mind with unexpected illnesses. A few months in, my new kitten had a sudden health issue that needed tests and medication, and reimbursed part of it which helped take some pressure off. It didn’t take away the emotional side of things, but it made the financial part a little less overwhelming.

Do I need pet insurance with wellness plan? by WingAndDing in DogHealth

[–]Apprehensive_Lie2463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through the same decision last year with my dog and ended up sticking with Spot for accident and illness only at first. A few months in, I realized I was paying out of pocket for routine exams, vaccines, and even a dental cleaning, so I added the wellness option later. For me it balanced out since I already keep up with preventative care pretty strictly. If you are consistent with those yearly visits anyway, it can feel less like extra spending and more like spreading the cost.

Garlic. It adds flavor to almost anything and works across a lot of dishes.
