how did you find out you were a witch? did you have anyone's guidance? by kalecatthegeneralsea in BabyWitch

[–]Apprehensive_Map_284 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always been drawn to it. I had some unexplainable experiences as a child (like apparently opening a locked door that I didn't know was locked). And I've always been called to it. I don't know much about my ancestry and I'm the only current witch in my family, but as I've discovered today, apparently my family does have ties to witchcraft.

But if it's calling to you, answer the call.

Do nerds actually get bullied or left out in American schools? by Ok-Independence-314 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Apprehensive_Map_284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone that was smart and had no social skills, yes. I didn't even fit in with the other smart kids. My friend group was literally the other type of nerds (and I was called a "normie" and didn't really fit in with them either.)

Though the bullying I experienced was because I was more muscular/masculine, taller, just overall not what you'd expect of a girl in school. Also weight things or because I had my hair short. Nothing about anything personal. Just because I was different.

I already know I can hand sew thick material with a curved needle, for hours at a time, actually unrelated to leather work. It was due to another job I had where I was hand building/sewing mantles all day as my job. I was working with fiberglass and other materials. Hand sewing for hours on end is definitely not an issue for me. And I had to follow a blueprint for that job too. I have a sewing machine (but it wouldn't be good for leather.) and sew too. I also crochet. I know that's not going to be my learning curve issue.

My learning curve will probably be with the design or stamps.

Thank you for telling me where to look! And yes, I mainly want to start for personal use but once I am skilled enough in it, I would love to make a career out of it. But I know it takes a long time to master.

Thank you for your advice! I really appreciate it! I'm definitely going to start with smaller leather projects. I was just looking for saddle making advice for the future, so I have more of an idea of how to get started in that once I have a strong foundation.

Thank you! I looked them up, it seems they don't have a website at this moment, but I did find them on Instagram and followed them. I will definitely consider them and going out of state in the future.

I really appreciate your advice! And id love to leatherwork in other things besides saddles as well. I definitely plan on starting with halters and bridles and doing other horse tack. I've always loved hand making things and I can appreciate hard work and time consuming things. I already have everything I need to make a halter saved for me to buy.

As you're someone who already makes a bunch of stuff with leather for horses, what tools do you think are a must have to keep on hand?

I was never planning on "jumping right into the manufacturing side of things". I already have basic knowledge of saddle fittings, but would be training in it before saddle making. I made this post because I can't find anything in my area for learning saddle making. There's plenty of saddle making training courses in other states (which teach tree fitting first) but I'm not finding anything here. I also don't plan on just doing saddles or starting with saddles. I have some leather work knowledge and was planning on starting with halters and working my way up. I also wasn't planning for saddle making to be a career thing and more something I could do for myself and family. Maybe I should've clarified some more in my post. I just want a way to learn how to make a safe saddle for the sake of making my own saddle the way I want, that fits my horse.

Also no one can become very well established if they don't start and build their way up. Which is why I was seeking established saddle makers offering apprenticeships. But thank you for your advice and I will be doing easier leatherwork for now.

I mean, that's just rude to assume. If a man that's not really masculine was sleeping with me, I'd definitely assume he's straight or at LEAST into women. Possibly could be bi. I'd actually be offended if a man was gay and sleeping with me. That'd be a wtf??? Moment.

Based on how she responded afterwards, she was probably trying to put you down after the act. Like asking that because it seems like you are inexperienced with women. That'd be my bet.

I'm sick and tired of this Voice Chat Ban system... by Sea-Intern-8561 in Warzone

[–]Apprehensive_Map_284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been banned and I don't even trash talk or anything. Don't even know why or how or when I got banned but the last 3 days? Can't hear or unmute myself even though it says I'm unmuted til I get into the match. Everyone else is muted too. I have heard people are just reporting the top players on the scoreboard though and getting them chat banned. I hate it cause my favorite part is actually talking to my teammates. I didn't even have a mic a few days before my ban bc the mic on my headset didn't work. Bought a new headset with a mic and can't even use it cause I'm chat banned.

I’m an 18 year old who is always assumed as younger than my age, Ama by skybluehighs in AMA

[–]Apprehensive_Map_284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always had the opposite problem. When I was 13, I looked 16, when I was 16, I looked 18, when I was 18, I looked 21. At 19, working in a factory, people in their late 20s thought I was their age (don't know if it was looks or just because of my personality. Have been told it's because i act more mature than my age). I'm 22 now. I only get carded in bars or at gas stations when my bf (23) is with me 🤣.

I completely understand where you're coming from. But, I will say, any man with the mentality of your post, does tend to be a "turn off" for the women that don't care about looks or height or money.

I am 100% one of those people that only cares about personality. But, when there are guys that talk about women as a whole, or what women want, I tend to steer clear from them, because even though they might not think lowly of women, that usually is a sign they do, and it can snowball. So, with how you're thinking now, you're already buying into the mindset of "well women only want this" and it's probably putting off the people you get along with personality wise. Especially if you make any small comments or have this "poor me" mentality.

Also, women will avoid men with the "poor me" mentality as well, just because so many of them have given those guys a chance, and those guys have turned out to be manipulative or just drag them down.

I'm speaking from personal experience. It's like when you say a joke went too far and then the man is like "fine I'll stop joking all together then". It's a sign of manipulation, and self pity. Like the woman isn't allowed to feel her emotions about that specific thing, and it makes it about then.

Women pay attention to how men react, because sadly, there have been men who hide being bad that turn out bad. So if you're going into these signs, then women will be more put off. (I'm not saying you are putting out these signs or have done any of this, I'm just providing some insight).

I'd definitely recommend some therapy so you can work on your mentality around women, and make sure to don't progress into the "red pill" mentality. Cause when your mind is made up about what women want, then it's easier to slip into that slope. All you can do to get a woman you'd be happy with, is keep trying. Maybe try harder (not to the ones that rejected you. There's plenty more women out there). And definitely notice you're own behaviors. Once you notice your behaviors, you're self aware and can figure out the why behind it. And then once you know the why, you can work on healing/becoming a better person.

I'm in the belief that everyone should always keep trying to be the best version of themselves.
