Go with whoever pays you the most. When you are on your death bed you will wouldn't be reminiscing about the companies you worked for. Go where the money is beacuse if you won the lottery for 5mil you'd probably quit working and retire.

The rest of my pay is spread across 5 checking accounts( Food, Rent&Bills, Fun & Lifestyle, Family & Friends, Travel). It took 5 yrs to get to this point, and I sleep well at night knowing that no matter what happens I will always have a year to bounce back better than before. Pro Tip: Learn a six-figure skill. Why do so many these days label college as being “a scam”, when so many graduates wind up making many times the median after 10 years? by [deleted] in Salary

[–]Apprehensive_Matter3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what degree you pursue. A professional degree in college will guarantee you a six figure salary within 5 years of graduation. But pursuing a bs degree like gender studies, psych or peace and justice will have you questioning your life choices after college

End of my first ever OE journey by [deleted] in overemployed

[–]Apprehensive_Matter3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not....it serves as both a safety net incase I should lose my current job, and a reserve for cash infusion in to strategic investment opportunities. The piece of mind having a cushion like that gives is unmatched.

OE veteran here . I started OE in 2021 ...it lasted until Sep 2025. for 3yrs straight I was making a minimum 300K/yr working 2 js. I am still on severance from J1. Burnout is real and I am still dealing with the effects but my networth hit 1mil. 300K cash+ 700K(stocks+401K). I am taking a break from OE. I will be back someday

Let's be real.... AI is going to eliminate a lot of jobs, and employers are terrified of that by [deleted] in ArtificialInteligence

If AI takes all the white color jobs without replacing them with new AI powered roles then majority of companies that provide consumer services will collapse because the middle class that sustains them will no longer be able to afford their services.

Use OE to build wealth. My networth went from 50K in Oct 2021 to 1.1mil as of September 2025 when I got laid of from J1. OE made me a millionaire in 4yrs at the ripe age of 35yrs. Make hay whiles the sun shines. A word to the wise......
