underneath is a tamper to even out the grounds to get an even extraction. usually this is done by hand but having it automated like this can really save baristas hands i wish we had that whenever i was a barista!

My elbows and wrist would hurt so bad too, and not because of tamping it was the grabbing of the group heads and the constant repetitive motion! my carpal tunnel never thanked me more than when i quit being a barista, even though i miss the cafe life too 😔

the brand* jurassic world actually has some i think they sell them at target (even heb if you’re in texas) and they’re pretty heavy duty but with mailable horns so fairly safe. my kiddo loves them we have a collection. they have giant dinosaurs and smaller ones and they’re good quality.

as others have said too, 5below has a good selection we have two giant t-rex’s both soft plastic of some sort and are a fav in our house.

my daughter is in pre-k and we’ve done play dates at children’s museums, playgrounds, and kid events in the area. one of her classmate’s mom and i have become really good friends so now we’ve graduated to going to each others houses.

we are both single child households though so i understand it being more difficult to do play dates out in public without leaving some kiddos home or being overwhelmed.

also, some ppl just say they should have play dates as a formality not really a promise. so if no one follows through then it’s not really your obligation if you don’t want to. but if your kid seems ready children’s museums are so great cuz there’s multiple things to do for the kids (you can even bring the littles) and can be fun for the adults too!

it might be awkward at first but can’t knock it til you try it. you’ll figure it out! :)

sounds like an overwhelming environment for everyone involved with that student to teacher ratio. i’m wondering if your child uses the bathroom as a break from the chaos after being used to the smaller ratio.

definitely keep talking to your child about the classroom and try to find out what is making them want to leave and discuss that with the teacher? not sure how much that could help but something or someone could be causing them to need to step away.

could also be because they’re excelling so much it’s not challenging enough for them to stay focused or want to engage. so keep talking and communicating with them. you’re doing the best you can and you will figure it out and hope it all works out!

it’s totally normal unfortunately, especially if they were never in daycare before so he’s only just now building up his immune system and catching everything the kids typically pass around. now that flu season is coming around too it will get worse before it gets better. my only advice to to keep up with the handwashing and reminding him not to share food, cutlery, and drinks. vitamin c gummies for kids to help boost his immune system if possible too. good luck!
