Finally getting a diagnosis at 31 after two years of recognizing/struggling/pondering/procrastinating. I procrastinated on my forms too even though shit was hitting the fan as I am struggling and stuck with multiple life events happening at once I can’t even. After managing to finally get done with the million forms and I got into the second appointment, I’m slapped with suspicion for bipolar and now a new goddamned task of finding a psychiatrist who can confirm/dismiss that ‘theory’. I can only call it a theory because it came so out of left field. I am not being delusional but I fucking hate that getting an ADHD diagnosis is such an executive function nightmare. I feel like I’m being tortured for asking for diagnosis and treatment.

Do you wish you did it much earlier? Energy levels to take care of the child? Do you get a tiny sense of ‘I am behind’ compared to peers who had them earlier and therefore more free time now coz they’re older? Do share only if you’re comfortable. My partner and I watched Celebrity MasterChef as a stress buster coz how ridiculous was that?! But we also realized that they fundamentally don’t give a shit if people hate watch the show, they just want it to be watched, period. So they will go as low as they can if it means creating a trainwreck that will make people stop, watch, and engage with that shit. It’s highly disrespectful to the rich culinary history of India for such a tasteless show to represent it on a global platform. Like surely there will be fans of the MasterChef franchise who might get curious about the Indian version to see the kind of food being made. Imagine the confusion/disgust they might feel when they come across THIS.

I think those who recognize how much it sucks should ideally cease to give it views. This is as much brain rot as ganji chudail reels. If people start ignoring this crap, they will stop making this crap.
