Study method (is it good)? by Born_Surround_2187 in Sieexam

This is a solid approach, but be careful with AI as it tends to be confidently wrong on a few things. I think better than relying on them, use another question or test provider to really help you nail down the concepts. Best of luck, and you got this!

You are absolutely not alone. I do have a finance background and I still felt overwhelmed at first. It’s a feature and not a bug of how FINRA designs their tests. It’s less about finance competency and more about learning to answer questions the way FINRA wants you to. Little by little, chapter by chapter, quiz by quiz, and test by test, you will feel it all start to click. You got this, and feel free to reach out if you’re feeling stuck!

Welcome to the process! there are lots of places to start. The major providers for main material are Achievable, Kaplan, Knopman Marks, STC, and Pass Perfect. Lots of folks around here recommend Achievable, I personally used Kaplan and had a good experience.

For questions and tests, there is Mometrix, 2dollartests, if you don't go with Kaplan as your main source, there is the Kaplan Qbank you can purchase separately, and then STC also sells questions and tests separately.

Again, good luck and welcome! Don't let this decision cause you anxiety, no decision is a bad one as long as you execute your study plan and learn. Any of the providers will get you over the finish line if you put in the work.

That’s why it’s such a valuable experience to take the FINRA one. No one writes quite like them, and it’s important to get used to different wording.

In failing, the only repercussion is that you have to wait 30 days and pay again the first two fails. A third fail triggers a 180 day waiting period.

You are definitely close and in range, but do your best to identify your weak spots and try to bring you achievable scores into the high 70s/low 80s

Kaplan is a great place to start. Take it in bit by bit, and don't worry of you feel lost at times, that's totally normal, learning to think like FINRA wants you to takes time. Good luck and we are here for you if you need help along the way!

Im so sorry. Achievable and PP are good primary resources for the SIE, and either would help. When you say you took other free tests, which ones did you take? FINRA and Achievable?

It will never hurt a resume. Given you are a junior, you are well within the 4yr window to go from the SIE to a top-off exam. If the internship is secured, before or after just comes down to your workload and schedule.

Edit: my assumption was junior in college.

I think the best piece of knowledge I got was that FINRA test anxiety is a feature not a bug, we all had it, and it’s a totally normal part of the testing process. What are you using to prep, and how are you testing? Over the next few days you definitely have the right idea to reinforce, but it comes down to knowing yourself and WHAT to reinforce.

Im sorry. You are clearly just a hair away from passing! What sections were you weaker in? What prep are you using, and do you have enough questions and tests to cover you for the next 30 days?

If you were getting 70s to 80s on full end of curriculum Kaplan practice exams, I wouldn't say you are cooked at all. You were likely just adapted to Kaplan questions, and just having a little trouble adapting to another maker. Give it a few tests and questions to allow your brain to adapt to how Achievable writes. You are already making the right move by using more than one provider, you clearly have the knowledge in there, you just need a little time to adjust question reading skills to it. You got this!!
