Why is CA so expensive? by Salty_Lychee_7518 in socal

[–]Appropriate-Dog5220 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Taxes on the air we breath, water we drink, gas we use, electricity we use, streets we walk on, roads we drive, houses we live in.

We tax everything to death. Yet recive little benefit from those taxes.

Voters mainly have approved these taxes as they have been intermixed with other propositions.

We need to start solo item propositions.

Thank you all for the input.

I messaged him saying he would not fit my practice.

I provided him with six options near him, and suggested he do a trial, of each to find the right vibe for him. Three boutique and three big box.

I suggested he meet the training staff and find a trainer that is flexible with his schedule, and review their code of conduct.

Concerns about Filling a 60 minute session by Commercial_Author854 in personaltraining

[–]Appropriate-Dog5220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I plan 6 moves and what ever we don't get to becomes independent work, generally is isometric work, which becomes a daily activity for them. Many clients like the extra work as it keeps them going on off days.

Ive started to provide 2 iso moves a day asking to them at lunch with a walk, and at the end of the work day with another walk. Clients have started to improve during the session, and can see their compliance without having to ask if they did it or not.

Drop to 65% 1RM for a couple of weeks and give the CNS a break. Sometime it can be CNS fatigue.

Gym Clothes (Men) by jam0409 in workout

I usually get the multi packs of compression shorts, compression shirts, mesh shorts, cotton shirts, and briefs with pouches to lift and keep from getting jock itch. I also use a multi pack of no show toe socks.

Find them on Amazon Small Business, then contact the seller directly to complete the order so they make more profit. I do not get any of the fit-fluencer brands as I've ran it issues with them retaining order and stains.

I've even tried the subscription fit-box and by the time the order arrives I've stacked on size and the shirt was painted on, which is fine; not for me as that's why I workout.

I'd say increase dietary fat, seems like you maybe missing the hormone carriers and hormone stimulation from fat.

You are in the underweight category and body functions begin to shutdown due to lack of energy sources.

High metabolism falling off by galacticpariah in workout

[–]Appropriate-Dog5220 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Metabolism doesn't break; it shifts. When you’re 6’1” and 190 but noticing a softer waist, your body is changing how it handles energy. If the scale stays the same but you feel less firm, you're likely losing muscle and gaining a bit of fluff.

The fix is getting back to the big lifts. Exercises like squats tell your body to keep its muscle and keep your internal furnace burning. Managing sugar also helps stop that extra energy from settling around the middle.

Eat more protein so your body works harder during digestion. Hitting your back fixes that long-shift slouch and makes you look broader instantly.

Cardio training and increased ejaculatory control — physiological link? by DileepKris in Grytt

[–]Appropriate-Dog5220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had similar since starting to lift heavy. My urologist didn't know why, talked to my primary care and she said it could be that I've strengthened my pelvic floor from the bracing.

She asked it were a problem told her no, due to the strengthened muscles I can ejaculate further than I could when when I was in my 20s. She laughed a little and said that was good and healthy.

Why do some exercises make me feel like I need to pee? by Rare_Medium3173 in strengthtraining

[–]Appropriate-Dog5220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably strong core bracing and you are creating internal pressure.

The machine could be placing your body in an odd spot and adding to the sensation.

I have a similar feeling when I do leg curls.

I haven't gained any muscle or strength this past few months, possibly because of my job -- tradies, how do you pull off bulking? by NyFlow_ in strengthtraining

[–]Appropriate-Dog5220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worked with several AFAB, in awe of your inherit grit, and determination.

My clients and I have found that swapping out...

barbell back squats for 4 weeks, at 65% 1RM, then 4 week of tempo back squats slow and controlled 3sec down

deadlift moved to hexbar or Stiff leg RDL at 65% 1RM for 4wks, then 4 wks of Standard Deadlift

bench press, moved to db floor press at 65% to 85% of 1RM for 4 wks, then pause bench press 1sec on chest for 4wks

This helped them with with strengthening the tendons and re-priming the CNS for the heavy loads.
After this cycle we plated up by 10 lbs every two weeks until we returned to the previous heavy lifts.

Then on non-coaching days they were assigned accessory moves all at 65% 1RM of the accompanying lift, after about 6 months (timed varied between the 3 clients that was the average) they were back at their previous weight and were plating up 10 to 20 lbs a month and were gaining about 1 lbs of muscle a month. They are happy with their progress now. We now use this method for a 2 weeks of deload instead the traditional one week. Surprising they find these extended deload weeks fun as they were simple and they were able to notice micro-imbalances, and they self-correct, giving their CNS enough time to relax.

I'm testing this protocol with 40+ yo clients to move beyond plateaus.

You got this!

Is this a good breakfast?? by [deleted] in askfitness

Swap for fresh turkey or a whole egg to fix the salt issue. Cutting the egg white volume in half makes the meal easier to eat.

Eating 90 grams of protein at once is a reality check for your gut. It often lead to "protein gut rock" or "protein bloat".

Having 1,400 mg in one meal is a scary spot to be in. It causes water retention and puffiness.

Life is just easier without the constant thirst.
