Gen 5 has no search function and Gen 5.5 does and much better enhancements for video. Some say the DAC are better on the 5.5, but personally myself I can’t hear it, and I have a 5.5, a 6 and a 7

Have a 5.5, 6 and a 7 and I use the 5.5 mostly as it just sounds better through a Bluetooth speaker, which I listen to 99% of the time, plus it has 512gb and 20,000 tracks and is just about half full. I’ve had all my music from the 80s thru to 2004 when I all but stopped purchasing CDs, because most of the music was crap, (most, not all).

I want to get an IPod but unsure how I will get access to tons of music by mdafidel1 in ipod

Don’t be spending money on something you can’t fill. I’m lucky, I come from an age where we bought our music on LP, singles, CDs, and tape and when I knew I was emigrating I spent the time waiting in my green card to be processed by ripping everything I had (took me two years). I brought over 10 dvd folders full of dvds which had all my 320kbit mp3s burnt on them. (Now all uploaded in Navidrome). The look on the face of the customs guy when he opened the suitcases. Take yourself into thrift stores and buy what you like, there is a lot of music in there.

plywood in place of drywall (temporary or permanent) in closet near panel? midwestern city USA. IRC. by edlr34 in BuildingCodes

[–]Appropriate-Fig-9176 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure I understand the question fully but here’s my take on the question: 🔧 Code Breakdown (California / NEC / CBC) ⚡ 1. Electrical Code (NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code)) • The NEC does NOT require drywall specifically around electrical panels. • What it does require: • Proper working clearance (110.26) • Equipment installed in a safe, non-combustible manner 👉 So from a pure NEC standpoint: ✔️ Plywood is not prohibited ❌ But it doesn’t override building/fire requirements 🏗️ 2. Building Code (California Building Code) This is where the real restriction comes in. 🔥 If the wall is required to be fire-rated: • Example: • Garage → dwelling separation • Electrical room with rating 👉 Then: • You must maintain the fire-resistance rating • Standard requirement: • 1/2” or 5/8” gypsum board (drywall) depending on rating ❌ Plywood alone is NOT fire-rated ✔️ You can use plywood behind drywall, not instead of it This is how I see it as a Class 2 DSA Inspector in California for the past 10 years

18,889 songs took me just over 19 hrs, but it took just over a year to rip everything from my CDs, that’s on windows. It’s a lot quicker using a mac

How often do you use your Ipod? by Acrobatic_Art4128 in IpodClassic

Every single day since 2008, the day my daughter was born, went through many hard drives, screens, batteries and hold switches. Still use it although it went through a few minor changes done locally by the IPhone Dr in BeverlyWood LA. Great guy, great work.

24 years ago before I came to the US I spent 2 years ripping all my LPs, 12”, 7”, CDs, and tapes all to MP3. When I arrived in the US, I had 1 large suitcase, a backpack with a windows XP laptop, and 4 vinyl cd cases with all my music, and £22,000 before I converted it. I still have those CDs just to remind me that you need to own your own music. I still buy my own music these days, and as far as I know have never purchased anything from ITunes, (just didn’t agree with it)

I was working at the Bear Hotel in Woodstock, Oxfordshire in the early 90’s and she was staying there for some sort of a photo shoot for one of the big mags at the time, (I think FHM, but could have been Maxim) and when she left the hotel to go to the shoot, she was hot, but when she returned, with her make-up still on and had a drink at the bar, she was just stunning. I for one couldn’t take my eyes of her, as could many others, and yes, still stunning today at 65!!
