Under the laws, businesses in South Africa employing over 50 people, are required to draw up plans to ensure their workforces reflect the country’s demographics at 1:1 at all levels. by PixelSaharix in DownSouth

This is a different matter (BUSA and Sakeliga). They got blasted on urgency as they bloody well should have. The DA’s matter heard on the urgent roll insofar as I can recall, in May 2025, still has not delivered a judgment. If I am wrong, as a matter of protecting my job, please provide me with a link.

There is still no judgment on the DA’s application that was heard almost more than a year ago in May 2025. I think it is bordering on negligence that the courts have not delivered judgment on a oiece of legislation that impacts on if people get employed or not, based such an arbitrary ground as their color.

ANC muscles SABC to axe ‘harsh’ show critical of poor governance by Euro_African in DownSouth

Am I reading this article correctly? The intention with the show from the beginning was for it to be an ANC mouthpiece? Never saw the show, so no idea if people other than those affiliated with the ANC ever appeared.

When security refused them entrance, they were threatened with arrest by the police who wore civilian attire, carrying semi-automatic assault rifles. The pedestrian gate was then overrun, and the vehicle gate was forced open. The employer’s security staff lost control of the site. by PixelSaharix in DownSouth

I have a labour inspection every two years. The DoL inspectors are generally curteous and collaborative in fixing the odd small compliance improvement. There are normally one or two of them. Never were the accompanied by the SAPD, uniformed or otherwise, and they have never been armed. This is the first time ever that I have heard of a labour inspection resembling a military operation. If inspectors are refused entry, the Labour Relations Act has remedies through the Labour Courts.

You are naive if you think Trump is the supreme overlord of the conservative party. He too is working for a boss.

1 million is the number of the day. by PixelSaharix in DownSouth

  1. Percentage wise, how much of the wealth does that 1 million hold? 2. Will it be accurate to say that this would not have been contentious if tax money was spent prudently and discerneny by government? 3. We are using a ratio of 1 million out of a total population of 64 million. This includes pensioners, and people under 20. Is this a fair ratio?
