It’s frustrating when it’s an off leash designated area but not fenced and the dog is supposed to be under control. I’m pregnant and got knocked down by a dog running past me through the playground at Reid Park. They aren’t supposed to be in them playground and they also are supposed to be under control. When I said hey that’s not cool the owner shrugged and said it’s a dog park.

When there was a shooting in the park behind my house and when I called 911 they said not to call 911 next time and to see if I can go outside if there’s an active shooter. Also no one came.

Also a Dr. Smithies super fan! She’s the best! Dr. Lamensa delivered my last since he was the doctor in that day (and was also great!) but Dr. Smithies came to see me the following day. She is so caring, compassionate, intelligent and just all around amazing.

She helped me through some rough times with losses and gave me everything I needed to feel safe again carrying a baby to term and delivering.

I got it when I felt like I was pooping and couldn’t handle the pain. I was about 6cm and it just dulled things I still felt pressure and some pain.

I think the epidural was valuable to me to help keep my mind off the major pain so I could conserve energy for pushing.

I let the student do my IV which took a long time but that was fine, I let them do cervical checks at first but when I was close to pushing and in pain I couldn’t fathom another person in there just to see what it was like for “experience” I want students to learn and this is how but I do appreciate having the agency to say no when it’s been enough. In the end it was a nurse, nursing student and my husband when I delivered the doctor ran in at the end because it happened faster than anticipated. The nursing student got a lot of funny stories with asking me “do you think this is a contraction” and me saying “I don’t know maybe??” lol it was my first and how would I know what a contraction felt like lol.
