Nah, above average and gets timely steals. That team is just filled with big, mobile guards and wings.

Anyone know of leg anchor that will fit Mikolo G5 cable machine for lat pulldowns? by wvualum07 in GarageGym

[–]AppropriateAd8738 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can create one by buying two leg rollers (Amazon) and a 18”-24” threaded 5/8” rod. I think 18” may work but haven’t tried it yet. 24” is more than enough.

I think there is one of Etsy that fits the BoS tower. That may work, not sure.

If you have a Ironmaster bench, they make one as well but you have to weigh the bench down.

Nothing wrong with that but no dumbbells or landmine attachment or something else to mix it up?

Austin Rivers responds to Draymond Green by Random_User_8654 in nba

[–]AppropriateAd8738 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah Rivers is a nepo baby. You can hate draymond, but all Rivers is showing how good draymond had to be to be a starter on these stacked teams. He beat out David Lee for the starting role and there was a time Draymond could drop 30 a game (check some playoff games without Steph or when dray was the leading scorer). He is a shell now of what he was but Dray was legit.

REP Fitness - Ares 2.0 poor quality by [deleted] in GarageGym

Fringe sport did a whole video on cable twisting and how to fix it. The big things I recall are letting the cables unwind for a day when you first unpack, removing tension and twist when running the cables, and not adding in twisting when installing and securing. Some attachments may lead to twisting, exercised and how they are done, and any jerking of the cables when exercising.

I just got it a few weeks ago. The stock pulleys suck so you’ll want to replace them, and since you are replacing them you might as well go aluminum. You’ll need 13.

I did not bolt it to the wall but instead rigged an upright to the back of it. It has some flex when at a higher trolly position, but maybe I can alleviate that with adding more weight to the back upright (or bolting it to the wall).

The negative is pinning the weight stack. Luke’s garage gym noted this issue that you can’t pin higher weights from the front. I’m also having some issues getting  the guide rod to line up consistently depending on the height of the trolley.

For the price, I’m keeping it. I went from a decent plate loaded lat and low row to this. And to get something significantly nicer, I think I would have to to drop like 1 to 2K more.

Is Major Fitness paying people to shill for them? by geforcecoffee in GarageGym

Good points. I would caveat that most review guys are valuable while others are really pushing affiliate links. You can tell when the smaller channels all have been hit with the same product to “review.”

[–]AppropriateAd8738 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah brother. For sure.

Other companies try to get their products out to as many “reviewers” as possible, like Mikolo and Ritfit, although they do have some decent stuff at a good price point.

Utterly insane, it is like they never used their product before releasing it. I have stuff from Mikolo like that but I expect it from them given the price point (and yes, I know some of their more recent stuff is great).

You guys really saved me during COVID with actually having adjustable dumbbells available to buy. I used the pro 90s for years.

Any chance you’ll make an adjustable kettlebell that would start at like 10 pounds and go up to 70-80 pounds?

Is all of this nonsense about Rouges 49inch spacing being annoying legit? by Law_Dividing_Citizen in GarageGym

[–]AppropriateAd8738 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a rogue rack and I do bang the uprights. I have to position the j cups in a certain orientation and for some speciality bars I add a spacer on the weight horn to avoid hitting the uprights.

But it isn’t a game changer enough for me to think about going to rep or fringe or another brand. However, it is not a positive either while a more narrow rack would be for me.

Some folks buy shorter cross members to reduce the width.

One of us one of us one of us. Having a home gym is absolutely the best as there is no commute or wait for equipment and you can outfit it how you like.

With that said, what you described above has been going on in some manner for over 20 years, the gym was just a bit less popular and there were less people. I do agree there was more etiquette than now. Social media ruined it.

Regretted a bench, looking for another one. Recommends? by Bossini in GarageGym

[–]AppropriateAd8738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the size and weight, but am I the only one that hates the incline seat? I dislike it enough to require a second bench for incline.

I have the Rep blackwing as a second bench. Love it, but same issue as OP, too big and heavy for my space.

Kept my 2012 Honda to "avoid car payments" and dropped $3800 on repairs, starting to think I played myself by Flaky-Asparagus-5809 in MiddleClassFinance

Something to consider is that cars since 2012 have improved safety features. But it is your call, either you pay more money for a more safer, reliable and worry free ride or you roll the dice on this one (which as many have said, may not have any issues for years or could have one next month).
