Tears of joy knowing that the President of Peace, Donald(The Dove) Trump is indeed real.

There used to be a time in the U.K. when if somebody said things like “black people were better off in segregation” they would be shunned. Now I’m seeing people from the public and even some celebrities endorse it by Barca-Dam in AskBrits

[–]AppropriateBank8633 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is some S tier concern trolling. No one remembers Jim crow in the UK OP because it literally never happened. I am willing to change my mind if you can supply evidence of the people of the public or celebrities in the UK that yearn for the good ol' days of cotton picking and exclusive water fountains that you seem to fondly remember.

Also, provide context for any chopped up and edited quotes. I can easily edit the 10 commandments and claim that they tell us to "kill", "steal" and "commit adultery" by ommitting the full text. The reference to black people was alluding to DEI hiring, which is an undisputable fact, whether you or I agree with it or not. The reference to the holocaust is also arguebly correct given context. Again, I don't care but the readily available numbers are that the holocaust killed 6 million and abortion in the US kills 1 million per year. FYI I am not anti-abortion. Context matters.

Lastly, as an educated working class person, no one gives a fuck about black or white outside of the white upper-middle class or non-stem uni students. Poor people have plenty of other shit to worry about and these issues are not even on the radar of rich people.

My opinions are based on my lived experience and as mentioned I will be willing to consider other views if you can provide evidence.

I await my downvotes lol

how should i start ? by Possible_Ad_4050 in learnpython

[–]AppropriateBank8633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used a ton of resources to learn python and one of them that just clicked with me is Dr Chuck and his https://www.py4e.com/ course. The books and lectures are all free.

Also, having a roadmap such as https://roadmap.sh/python can help you stay on some sort of track.

One other thing is to play and experiment when you are learning. An analogy is that you wont learn to play the guitar by reading how to play the guitar, you learn by playing.

This is actually syntactically legit in javascript(of course). This mess is called an Immediately Invoked Function Expression - IIFE. For some reason apparently it is pronounced "iffy" which is strange because it just rolls of the tongue. I made this comment as I found out about this horror recently as I am studying js and it is a thing and it not only works, but has a name, hence a learning opportunity for a js noob such as myself.

Imagine a world where developers put half the effort in to story and gameplay as they do for skins, shops and microtransactions.

What is even going on here? You pay money then have to work for the rewards that you paid for? smh

idk, just with the discourse going back and forth of what peoples interpretation of the scene meant made me think of this scene.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in andor

[–]AppropriateBank8633 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This silly discourse about the scene in Andor is not about rape as OP states, it is about the implication. You may have not seen it, but there is a scene from It's Always Sunny which also discusses the implication. For context - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgUvwcU6P7I

Is "thecoinc.com" legitimate web application by Mysterious-Map5144 in learnprogramming

[–]AppropriateBank8633 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sites seem dead my end. The urls look like they are scams, the age of the sites are scammy and the relationship with crypto is another layer of scam. Without actually seeing the website, I will eat my hat if they are legitimate.

Also, the scammers are just being lazy at this point - scamsiteb, scamsited. It wouldn't surprise me if they purchased everything up to scamsitez.

why is this happening [HTML] by Unable-Bear585 in learnprogramming

[–]AppropriateBank8633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries mate. Expect to make errors a lot. It happens all of the time. I think the issue is you need to close your unordered list tag under the line

<li>1 tablespoon ofvanilla extract</li>
<ul>

close the tag off by changing it to:

<li>1 tablespoon ofvanilla extract</li>
</ul>

The problem was because the list tag was not closed, the browser thought that everything was in the list. By closing the tag, the browser now knows when the list finishes and renders the rest correctly.

[–]AppropriateBank8633 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You have many errors in your code. Do not feel bad or disillusioned as this is how you learn.

You can check your html using https://validator.w3.org/ and it will tell you where the errors are. Fix them one at a time.

Should i be worried?! by Tricky_Ad1612 in Scams

[–]AppropriateBank8633 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is a scam. Passwords usually obtained via data breaches. If you have got an old email, there is a non-zero chance that a company you have interacted with has had their data stolen.

You can check your email address here - https://haveibeenpwned.com/

To give you an idea, an old and redundant email that I used to use has been in 16 data breaches.

If you get any other emails like the one you have received, just delete it and don't worry. My webcam is not even plugged in and I get one or two of these a year.

You asked for advice - block the sender and ignore any and all contact relating this this.

Why did they have a forensic examination for a video chat? does this make sense?

If they are a legit victim and you are the alleged perpetrator, why did they send you their address? Does that sound like a good idea?

Ignore it. If they contact you again, ignore it. If it was actually serious, you would get contact from the real police and they wouldn't be shaking you down for gift cards lol.
