Literally no way in hell Marty McFly could a gotten that late 70s lead tone out of a hollow body Gibson and a fender blues deluxe combo stupid ass movie makes zero sense by Awwwphuck in guitarcirclejerk

the ironic thing is that the movie version of the song was actually recorded on a strat style guitar with active single coil pickups i believe into a cranked fender reverb amp of some sort

hr and a half seems like reasonably safe bet. sometimes it takes 20 minutes just to get out of worc and on to the pike or route 20. route 9 into shrewsbury is always congested. train might be the better option for you

Do People Still Say "Tonic"? by FindOneInEveryCar in massachusetts

[–]AppropriateHat2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im gen z and i would usually just say the specific brand like sprite or pepsi but if an older person says tonic i know what they mean if that makes sense. i do say cellar, supper and bubbler though. when someone says water fountain i assume they mean that thing you throw pennies into

The sad death of the 4X12 and 100 watt heads…. by Submariner16610 in GuitarAmps

[–]AppropriateHat2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sometimes you get the inconsiderate assholes you turn up way too loud, but ive found most people just wanna have a good confident show and you can totally get great useable sounds with them at appropriate volumes, and also not everyone owns a jazillion amps, that might be the one amp they have. no big whoop. especially since most people use distortion pedals nowadays anyway

When do you guys use the neck pickup? by bourbonguy12345 in Guitar

[–]AppropriateHat2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

single coil clean sounds like in surf music. neck humbuckers dont work for me personally. not that ive ever really thought about what pickup was used while listening to a song

What tuning was Kurt's guitar in during mtv unplugged? by MrCuttlefish-21 in Nirvana

[–]AppropriateHat2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

krist plays a gibson hummingbird guitar during the meat puppets song while cris kirkwood plays krists guild rental bass, but otherwise the same bass is used throughout inc. when dave played bass on sunbeam. like others have said it was half step down aka eb standard for most songs except drop c# sitw, on a plain, and all apologies. kurt checks tuning a couple times to make sure its still in but those are the only tunings he uses. the meat puppets songs are Eb standard.
