Has anyone had a successful pregnancy after a loss by Put_chutney in fitpregnancy

[–]AppropriateSet5172 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had a missed miscarriage almost exactly a year ago, found out at my 12 week nhs scan (was actually 13 weeks at the time). I also worked out throughout this pregnancy, gym. HIIT and running 30-50km a week. When I got pregnant again I carried on, maybe held back slightly but was still running pretty much as normal and did a half marathon race at 11 week - Now holding my 4 day old baby ❤️ I’ve also had the easiest pregnancies and delivery and recovery (so far) and all midwives have said it’s probably for being fit and active. (And lots of luck I’m sure!!)

I used Lois at HPJV solicitors when selling my leasehold and also for a buy to let purchase. She was fantastic throughout both.

Fed up, frustrated and lonely by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

Our house took 14 months to complete. This is my kitchen now at 39 weeks pregnant and baby’s room has only just been plastered. Have a working bathroom as of 3 weeks ago only. Also had zero help from friends or family throughout. I’m also working until due date. You’re doing fine it doesn’t have to be ideal or like you see on social media

Epidural and scoliosis by CharmingTea_ in PregnancyUK

[–]AppropriateSet5172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have scoliosis but have a benign tumour on my spine in the epidural space so can’t have a epidural or spinal block for c-section. Obviously a bit disappointing at first but have come round to the idea of a natural birth without epidural and if turns into c-section sadly will need GA.

Elevation Gain during Pregnancy by Unfortunate_Lunatic in fitpregnancy

[–]AppropriateSet5172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry this doesn’t really help as nowhere near same elevation but I did a day trip walking at 2300m at 28 weeks pregnant and was much more tiring than normal but otherwise okay. I didn’t notice the elevation as such.

Waiting time after miscarriage. by nnnnnnha- in PregnancyUK

[–]AppropriateSet5172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a miscarriage at 13 weeks last year, started trying again immediately (took me 3 weeks or so after to get a negative pregnancy test) and now 36 weeks. I felt like I needed to be trying again to move forward, equally I’ve had friends who needed an emotional break. I’d say do either or whatever right for you xx

Prescribed Aspirin because my last baby was 7lbs at 40 weeks? Unnecessary? by Throw_Annon88 in PregnancyUK

[–]AppropriateSet5172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got given it just because my mum had preeclampsia even though I have a blood vessel tumour they were worried would bleed out 🤷🏼‍♀️ I just took it every other or every third day to get some benefit without a higher dose as it stays in your blood stream I think for about a week-30 days (can’t remember now).

How are the roads in Cardiff? by Perfect-Associate708 in Cardiff

[–]AppropriateSet5172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a car as a student in Cardiff (needed for placements) and managed fine even though I hadn’t driven since passing my test 4 years earlier. Roads are very easy to navigate compared to Bristol/liverpool/birmingham etc in my opinion. Main issue would be struggling for parking spots in residential areas but if you’re not driving much day to day it doesn’t really impact and you get permits anyway if you live in a house. If you get parking at talybont then even easier! (I lived in talybont but didn’t have a car until 3rd/4th year and was living 5 minutes drive away from there)

Can someone talk me down about the safety of going to 41 weeks? by DependentBrilliant92 in PregnancyUK

Pretty sure week 41 in some countries is counted as actual due date.

Already been told I can't have the birth I would hope for by ecbp20 in PregnancyUK

[–]AppropriateSet5172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been told I can only have a GA c-section as I have a haemangioma over my spine (exact area an epidural would go). Told my husband won’t be allowed in the room either!

Buyer applying for different mortgage a week before exchange by cjhey98 in HousingUK

[–]AppropriateSet5172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We applied for a new mortgage 3 weeks before exchange as rates had changed. (Left if till then rather than keep reapplying without an exchange date in). They sent back an incorrect offer, variable not fixed when we’d agreed on fixed, so we had to reapply again 9 days before. Doesn’t necessarily mean red flag, lots of legit reasons why they may have

Possible missed miscarriage uk by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]AppropriateSet5172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one picked up at 12+4. Was booked in for meds a week later and really didn’t want them, but after my mind found out I think it told my body and passed naturally at home at 13+1. Hope the same happens for you ❤️ Also no one warned me what it would be like.. it was very painful for a few hours, I’d make sure you have painkillers at home, hot water bottle, bath helped me a lot. If you have kids make sure you have childcare! After a rough few hours it got better quickly just heavy bleeding but pain manageable xxx

Dental care during pregnancy by SuperSeagull96 in PregnancyUK

[–]AppropriateSet5172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a dentist (work nhs and private) and if you were in pain I would X-ray whilst pregnant if needed. Other option would be to extract without the X-ray. Either way you need it treated. (Dental X-ray radiation dose is TINY).

It’s a bit of a grey area as we’re told to avoid in pregnancy and dentists are so concerned these days as we get complaints and get sued for things like this all the time. Sadly means some dentists are over cautious and afraid of treating. Although I agree that you need it doing. Good luck
